The_Big_M Posted March 5, 2016 #26 Share Posted March 5, 2016 The Jewel may be next. I'd be calling Dawn... but it's a while off.

Royalty X Posted March 5, 2016 #28 Share Posted March 5, 2016 I'd be calling Dawn... but it's a while off.Dawn is in better condition than Jewel, I would think. I'd say they'd both probably go at the same time, likely before the brand new ship arrives in 2019. I'm not sure when Dawn's next dry dock is. If she gets The Pantry, I'd assume she'll be staying a little while longer.
Kruzein Posted March 5, 2016 #29 Share Posted March 5, 2016 if anyone wants to do the final cruise from Auckland to Singapore on march 27th 2017 they can leave their details https://www.pocruises.com.au/Farewell-Pacific-Pearl Thanks for the link i have registered, as we did the first crossing and 4 on her since and have one booked for July so would like to do the final also :)
Rare MicCanberra Posted March 6, 2016 #30 Share Posted March 6, 2016 It would be interesting to do a last cruise. Perhaps if the prices are right but the Pearl is not a ship I am eager to get back on.
GUT2407 Posted March 6, 2016 #31 Share Posted March 6, 2016 I'd love to do a "Last Cruise" but they all require flights.
Haoie Posted March 6, 2016 Author #32 Share Posted March 6, 2016 Don't think she'll be scrapped yet, seeing as it's been than a year since her last upgrade. Probably heading for the Asian market like so many ships nowadays?

At their request, details of the new operators will remain confidential.'
NSWP Posted March 7, 2016 #34 Share Posted March 7, 2016 (edited) Perhaps Pacific Pearl is going to Star cruises with Virgo, Libra, Pisces, Aquarius and Gemini, I saw one of those in HK. A lot of gambling goes on in those ships. Edited March 7, 2016 by NSWP
Rare MicCanberra Posted March 7, 2016 #35 Share Posted March 7, 2016 Perhaps Pacific Pearl is going to Star cruises with Virgo, Libra, Pisces, Aquarius and Gemini, I saw one of those in HK. A lot of gambling goes on in those ships. I would say it will be even more private but would guess at it definitely being a floating casino.:D
Haoie Posted March 7, 2016 Author #36 Share Posted March 7, 2016 Well the Pearl's existing casino is tiny, so if that was happening they'd probably refit some of the lounges.
Kiwi Kruzer Posted March 7, 2016 #37 Share Posted March 7, 2016 From the official announcement 'Pacific Pearl will be transferred to a new fleet in early April 2017. At their request, details of the new operators will remain confidential.' Perhaps there is a clue there...if its being "transferred to a new fleet " one would presume that means it is not being sold, but remaining in the same Corporate Family? They have P&O Australia...why not P&O Asia?
