Sissaaaaaa Posted May 21, 2016 #101 Share Posted May 21, 2016 I wish they would add some southern Caribbean ports while sailing from Florida. Carnival does it, so it can be done.
Sissaaaaaa Posted May 21, 2016 #102 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Hope we don't have those problems on the Sun in a week. Feel sorry for you, hope it didn't spoil the whole cruise. Mike You won't. I have been on 20+ NCL cruises, and never had that issue.
spanishguy1970 Posted May 21, 2016 #103 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Better Customer Service. NCL needs to come up to the 21st Century enough trying to contact them through snail mail. I have tried the 800# but usually have to hold for too long.
NLH Arizona Posted May 21, 2016 #104 Share Posted May 21, 2016 (edited) No smoking in the casino or anywhere inside except for the cigar lounge ever.All-inclusive (at least for the suite guests.) Have to say, it is really nice in Celebrity's casinos since it went non-smoking and it doesn't seem to hurt their business, as the casino is still crowded in the evenings. I would love to see NCL follow with this policy. I would also like to see a down and dirty cost without any perks/promotions, as an option for purchasing a cruise. spanishguy1970 Posted May 21, 2016 #105 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Wondering what they eat at home? I'm always amazed at the people saying how horrible the food is on a cruise. Yes, i always wonder that too. What do they want? caviar? lobster? filet mignon? white truffles?, black truffles. I have eaten in 5 star restaurants and yes NCL may not be that, but is definitely a step up from what i usually eat or make at home specially the make part:D..anyways to each his own.:D:D
Poop_Deck Posted May 21, 2016 #106 Share Posted May 21, 2016 I wish they'd add new ports in the Caribbean. I'd love to see a ship out of San Juan for the entire season. Exactly this! I love the Southern Caribbean and would prefer to sail NCL to those destinations instead of RCI.
mexico8 Posted May 21, 2016 #107 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Yes, i always wonder that too. What do they want? caviar? lobster? filet mignon? white truffles?, black truffles. I have eaten in 5 star restaurants and yes NCL may not be that, but is definitely a step up from what i usually eat or make at home specially the make part:D..anyways to each his own.:D:D We have cruised with Princes, RCI, HAL and NCL. We enjoy the variety on NCL (the Indian and Indonesian meals) and the variety on the buffet as well. While not haute cuisine it is presented very nicely and there is a nice variety to choose from. Wish that all ships had self service laundry. Most of my clothing does not go in the dryer so it's hard to send it out and get it back all shrunken. When we have the washers and dryers on the ship we can choose to hang dry the clothing in the shower. Also nice to have the iron to use in the laundry room. slimkat Posted May 21, 2016 #108 Share Posted May 21, 2016 Two Things: 1) I wish NCL would copy RCL's adult-only areas. The ones on the Oasis of the Seas and Quantum of the Seas were fabulous. Truly an oasis and no additional charge. On BA you have to be in the haven or pay for the vibe club which doesn't compare at all to what RCL has. 2) Embarkation and disembarkation out of the NYC pier. Another area that NCL could improve. I traveled on the Oasis of the Seas on spring break week 3 years ago and I have never had an easier time getting on/off a ship. It was amazing that they had over 6k people on that ship and we were allowed to stay in our rooms until disembarkation time and we walked right off. newmexicoNita Posted May 22, 2016 #110 Share Posted May 22, 2016 I wish they'd add new ports in the Caribbean. I'd love to see a ship out of San Juan for the entire season. My one thing would be new ports as well and more embarkation ports. The only other change I would make and this probably sounds silly: specialty coffee drinks being offered with the booze package. titangas Posted May 22, 2016 #111 Share Posted May 22, 2016 I would make the DSC mandatory and non adjustable, so I wouldn't have to see another idiotic tipping thread on cruise critic.
res2cue Posted May 22, 2016 #112 Share Posted May 22, 2016 (edited) Teach bartender to rotate beer so they serve the cold ones instead of cool ones that haven't had a chance to get cold yet. Add more servers walking around so you can get a drink in timely fashion without having to go to the crowded bar. Lovemygreekgeek Posted May 22, 2016 #113 Share Posted May 22, 2016 I wish NCL had diet coke (even better would be those machines where you can mix sodas...I think RCI has them). And of course if always like lower base prices, but I can't complain because I always think our cruises were worth the cost!

Rare richstowe Posted May 23, 2016 #115 Share Posted May 23, 2016 (edited) I wish NCL had diet coke (even better would be those machines where you can mix sodas...I think RCI has them). And of course if always like lower base prices, but I can't complain because I always think our cruises were worth the cost! The adult beverage part of the Norwegian drink package is great but the rest is the opposite of Ultimate . I wish the UBP included premium coffees , bottled water and soda's in cans . Celebrity offers all this and more in their drink package which like Norwegian is often an included perk . Plus when included in as a perk , there is no 18% gratuity charge . You can however pay an extra $10 per day to bring it up to be roughly equivalent to the alcohol portion of the NCL plan . So here's my proposal - NCL should offer, for an extra $10 per day include water , fresh juices , soda in cans and premium coffees and so on . Many willingly pay the extra $10 to upgrade the Celebrity drink package . Norwegian should also offer this upgrade option . Then it could legitimately be called an Ultimate Beverage Package . SteveGP Posted May 23, 2016 #117 Share Posted May 23, 2016 I would eliminate all the Diamonds International hype on board the ships in the Caribbean along with stops in Nassau (Atlantis). Clearly, there is a ve$$$ted partnership between the cruise lines and the casino and jewelry stores. The "free" seminars offering gifts and special insider information steering you to specific stores and excursions are a real scam to the novice cruiser. luckyinpa Posted May 24, 2016 #118 Share Posted May 24, 2016 i agree with the above proposal to charge 10 more a day for water. you know they pay pennies per bottle in volume so this would be an additional revenue stream.

lakelivin2 Posted May 24, 2016 #121 Share Posted May 24, 2016 In general, we like the product NCL delivers. Food is good to us, service is almost always very good and prices are a little better than other lines such as Celebrity and RCCL, and Carnival. A beverage package that includes water and specialty coffee would be great! Oh, as well, sometimes (though rarely) I wish they would get some better passengers.:D

wdsted Posted May 26, 2016 #124 Share Posted May 26, 2016 I guess that in asking for one thing to change about NCL, the CC downer squad interpret that to be an opportunity to engage in their favorite activity: whining about everything endlessly. I wish NCL would establish a blacklist of complainers and refer their reservation requests to another cruise line. Oh, to dream...
