Priority boarding for naptunes?

You will receive at check-in a boarding pass labeled "S". The holders of that pass will be called for embarkation first. However, if embarkation has already begun--boarding numbers are already being called--a holder of the "S" pass may embark at any time.

At least, that has been my experience.

When you arrive at the terminal, ask one of the reps you will see walking around where is Suite Priority Line...... if you don't spot it yourself. After you check in, get your ID/key card, you will receive a boarding card with Priority "S" on it and will board after those in wheelchairs are assisted aboard.

Yes, there is a separate line for Suite customers. You also can get away with boarding a little early.

:) We aren't 'getting away' with anything. We have bought an amenity and it is something included in the fare we paid. What is a waste if those of us who are Four/Five Star and get Priority Boarding for 'free'. So, in effect, we are buying something that we should be for free if we were not in a suite. :D

In Venice last year the Neptune and high star line for check in was clearly marked. Check in was quick but I didn't get the S boarding card and didn't know to ask. A HAL rep saw my gold key card and escorted me to a priority security line. It's a small thing but the beginning of superior service for the whole cruise!

At Port Everglades, everyone goes through the security check prior to reaching the check-in counter.

Once through security, then one needs to look for the separate Suite, 5 and 4 Star check-in lines. At Port Everglades, my experience has been that the ground staff have been most helpful in getting me into the right area.

Not all ports use the S card. In FLL we normally are told to go upstairs to a separate waiting area.

What I related is the experience we have had time and again in Port Everglades and yes, we go upstairs to waiting area but have the "S" card. In Boston at Black Falcon it will be different and in Seattle different again........ :)

Maybe I was wrong about the S card in FLL - I just do not remember getting one.

Your memory isn't short yet - we didn't get one either in FLL last time. We did on a previous cruise. Seems to vary.

We have never seen an "S" card.

I'll take a photo of one next month in San Diego.

They are about the same size as your room key, red and have a large letter S on them.

We've had one on every single cruise we've been on in San Diego, Ft Lauderdale4, Seattle and Vancouver.

Thanks for the explanation Joanie.

We have embarked in Vancouver, Sydney Australia, and San Diego(where a HAL rep told us there was no separate seating or priority embarkation for Deluxe (now Neptune Suites), of course there was:D).

Never had one in Fort Lauderdale, nor in Vancouver. Yes there was separate seating while waiting, but we didn't need a card, and last time in FLL we were personally escorted aboard by one of the concierges. Now I am really curious about this S card, and will ask about it in Vancouver in May if we are not given one.;)

I recall getting the "S" card at Port Everglades many times, however, don't remember getting it the last year or so but never really paid close attention.

Thinking harder on this, I do remember getting a S card on my last cruise, but this was in a different terminal than the prior two FLL cruises when I do not remember getting one. The first one had the checkin desks on an upper floor, while the other two checkin desks were on the street level.

After all of this hard thinking I need to go take a nap!

The onetime we had a Neptune suite, in 2012, at port Everglades, we did get a "S" card and we were the "first" ones on board. That was exciting! Lol. Last year at Port Everglades it was separated 4, 5 stars and Neptune suites on one side, the rest on the other. I think we were onboard by 11:30 am, pretty quick, imho. In 10 days I'll be the boarding area, you can bet I'll be looking for the "S" cards! Hahaha....

You are being placed in front of others. They are being inconvenienced and you did not pay the people being inconvenienced. As a new 4 star mariner I am now part of that problem. HAL should assignment more people to checkin and make it good for every customer.
