firstcruisebuzz Posted April 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2016 I have made flight reservations in July to depart Fort Lauderdale in July at 9:45 from the Allure of the Seas based on what I was reading on line and that I would have enough time. However, the online check in is not letting me continue because I am not meeting their suggested departure time of 11:30. The flights substantially higher or not none stop after that time slot. Will we make this flight time and if so, how do I get online check in to work? Thanks!

If you are near the front of the line for self-assist disembarkation, and there are no delays, you should be at the airport before 7:30am.

Do you think that is pushing it and it is worth it to pay for a later flight? We are not in a rush to get home, however the cost was a about $100.00 difference (total)

Many people have made early flights, but there is no guarantee that everything will go smoothly the day you get off the ship. In my opinion, it's not worth the risk. blackshirt Posted April 13, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 13, 2016 just a warning Is it really just a warning? The one time I encountered it, I was not able to get past that until I entered something it would accept. I realize that whole tab does not even require anything be entered but as long as you do enter something, it seemed to me it would not let you get past that screen unless you put in something that did not generate the warning. In other words, you can't put in your actual departure information if your flight leaves before noon because the page won't let you.

I believe you are correct, you have to enter something acceptable, but I don't believe anything else is done with that info.
Ashland Posted April 13, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 13, 2016 I recently ran into this problem as well...but since it's the 2nd part of my B2B I figured I don't really need to print out my SetSail Pass.

clemcruiser Posted April 13, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 13, 2016 How much do you like being stressed on your last day of the cruise holiday? Do you like having a relaxed breakfast, and getting off knowing that if there is a bit of a line your blood pressure will not be going up? You also need to consider the fact that it is probably cheaper as few others want to go at that time slot. If you miss that flight is it easy to get on another one without sitting around for hours waiting?
Rare BecciBoo Posted April 13, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 13, 2016 (edited) Of course I agree with Bob...surprise....This whole thing is to absolve RCCL of any liability as far as warning cruisers that they may or may not be able to make their flights. I think you'll be fine if you get off the ship ASAP in the morning, do self assist. Unfortunate that your flight is too early to do Luggage valet, but you'll still be fine. Of course there is always the chance that you'll be delayed by something..but the airport is only 10 minutes away. Merion_Mom Posted April 13, 2016 #13 Share Posted April 13, 2016 I have only taken a chance on early flights twice. Was at the airport and at the gate before 7 am both times. Have taken later flights. Never got to the airport after 9. Have I just been lucky? Maybe. My past experience is no predictor of your future experience. :)

Margy23 Posted April 14, 2016 #15 Share Posted April 14, 2016 I recently ran into this problem as well...but since it's the 2nd part of my B2B I figured I don't really need to print out my SetSail Pass. We're taking our first back to back later this year and hadn't thought about whether we would need to print a Set Sail pass for the second half. I know we have to get off and reboard and understand that is usually done as a group; also some ships host a luncheon, which I think we would enjoy. Mostly we just look forward to (at least figuratively) waving good-bye to the poor folks departing after the first half. Margy
Robo1098 Posted April 14, 2016 #16 Share Posted April 14, 2016 Not that $100 is nothing but if you look at the whole picture its a small percentage of the vacation. Personally I would pay the $100 just to avoid that tension as you wait to get off the ship or through customs. Seems like it could make all the relaxation you have just enjoyed for a week end up with a lot of tension. Just my thought.

Margy Just did B2B in February and you DO NOT need Set Sail pass for second cruise. We were escorted off/on ship and issued new SeaPass Cards for 2nd cruise and invited to lunch. Have had as long as 2 hour hold due to government not Cruise Line. You just never know how many agents will show up for work to expedite a smooth departure.
