...My last cruise people were unhappy because they wouldn't give them money offered because they didn't bring the offer letter. That just seems a little unfair....

 

Yes, it does. I'm sure there is a way for them to track offers electronically. Perhaps they are hoping people will lose their letters :(.

I was finally able to take advantage of a discounted cabin with a casino offer. I always book my cruises early and of course there is never an offer when I book. Over the weekend my husband received a casino offer. He hasn't cruised in at least 5 years. I got nothing and cruise at least once a year. I called the number on his offer and found I did have an offer available to me and was able to cancel and rebook. The person I talked to told me if you have a cruise booked that offer will not be sent to you even though it is available to you. 3 out of 4 of us were eligible but have never received notification of the offer. I guess it is necessary to keep checking after you book.

Did you call Princess Reservations or the Casino Department?

My reservations were through Princess reservations, made in May. I called the casino department and she finally told me the offer was there. I than called princess reservations and she did a cancel and new reservation. It saved 4 of us each $425.00.

I know this is alittle off topic but does anyone know how long you have to cruise when you get a free cruise offer the last night of your cruise? We are going in October and have another vacation week in January so I wanted to wait and see if we get a free cruise before I book another one.Im pretty sure its 30 days to book but not sure how long until sail

It is for high-rollers in the casino. If you wager enough over the course of a cruise, they give you an offer letter on the last night for a free cruise to get you back on board (and in the casino). I've only received letters on the last night offering casino credit on a future cruise, never for an entirely free cruise, but I have heard that they do exist.

Yes they do. On one of our cruises a few years ago, I asked and was told the threshold was to earn a free cruise and it was something like 25,000 points earned on a single cruise. That means gambling $75K. I don't gamble anywhere near that so it was more curiosity on my part. I did have an offer of an almost free cruise a while back (pay only port charges) but that came in the mail and was only for specific cruises that we weren't interested in. Haven't seen anything like that since then.

I received a offer in the mail today regarding a casino offer. It says to call and mention an offer code. Do you know if there is anyway I can look this up online? Also, does this have to be booked only through Princess. Or can I use this offer with a TA?

I've never been given a card, but after a certain # of points they start offering you free drinks on Princess. I guess the servers keep an eye on the machines if you play slots. Not sure what they do for those who play table games.

At 100 points a free drink appeared on your machine and at 200 another one was added. The next ones came at 350 and 500 points. After that, every 200 points earned added another drink. When you wanted a drink, you would tell the server and then a casino employee would deduct the drink(s) ordered from your tally - you could order 2 at a time and share the second one if you wanted to. I don't know if this will roll out fleetwide but I hope it does.

Actually it has/had gone the other way. On our last few cruises I noticed the machines were not doing the free drink "count down" and asked the casino host. I was told that it was a test and was not going to be offered fleet wide. Earlier they had a program where you got $10 credit for every X number of points and the drink idea replaced that.

Well that didn't last long! We disembarked the Star just two weeks ago, maybe they are doing it on some ships and not others?
