Which Rule(s)/Practice(s) would you like to see changed on your Carnival Cruise

Recommended Posts

How about liquor, that causes liver damage. No one forces you to be amongst smoke.

My drinking liquor and damaging my liver does not affect your health. Second hand smoke does affect other peoples health. Not a very good comparison.

Another smoking thread born from a dress code thread.

It's been a week after all... what took so long?

It's actually about what you would like to see changed by Carnival. The first post mentioned dress, but the topic of the thread is extremely open ended.

I'd ban smoking in all indoor spaces on the ship, but add back smoking allowed balconies on one side of the ship.

I'd enforce the chair hog rule.

A reasonable dress code would be nice as well. No butt checks or back hair. Take your hat off for dinner ( unless you're a chemo patient), and please....... take a shower between pool/beach/excursion and the MDR.

I would like them to change the rule that I have to get off the ship unless I pay for another week.

You might actually have came up with a suggestion that won't have anyone arguing over! HA!

Question if I may....don't get me wrong, all are entitled to their opinions, but when you go out to dinner at a restaurant, a nice restaurant, do you notice most people wearing shorts?

Yes, all the time. Welcome to Palm Beach, Florida.

Remember the Carnival Paradise? How did that non-smoking experiment turn out?

Charge for the serenity deck, go to Princess, you can do that at the sanctuary. A pay for pool privileges and chairs scheme. I just like the NO KIDS at the serenity.

Allow only 1 person in room to purchase Cheers package. My wife Can't drink due to medical reasons, or allow 2nd person to only buy soda and coffee package. Mix and match them.

And best of all, allow for a second week at no charge for all those great people that don't break any rules and adhere 100% to their cruise contract.

Aloha.

For those that don't know this, Carnival Paradise was a 100% non smoking ship. It wasn't making money, so it was changed. Maybe some of you that want a smoke free ship should have been sailing on the Paradise.

I have to go with enforcing rules that are made. If they don't want to enforce them, then get rid of them.

How many times are people going to want to sail a Fantasy class ship doing the same itinerary over and over and over and over again.

I'm fine with smoking areas. Smokers just need to follow the rules.

In addition to rooms being ready at boarding time for all to drop off luggage I'd also like to see this staggered check in banished.

Other onboard practices to return I'd like would be a midnight buffet and the art prints of the ships.

Paradise was a ship ahead of the times. Wouldn't be a stretch today. Failing that, having some non-smoking nights in the casino.

How about a ban on fashion police?

Carnival has one of the most relaxed dress codes for a cruise lines....let's not turn a cruise into a trailer park party now, lol

I would like to see it that rooms are ready at boarding time for everyone so you can drop your carryons

Since Carnival won't hire more cabin stewards to accomplish this, would you like to be evicted from your cabin at 6AM on debarkation day or have boarding start say around 1-2PM? Because there's no way as it sits right now that all those cabins will be cleaned and ready in the current timeframe.

I actually like the idea of the staggered check in, if people would follow the rules. If you get a 12:30 check in time, show up at 12:30, not at 10:30....the staggered checking, when followed correctly, helps keep crowds down

Why do I have to choose either of those?

Many ships bring on extra workers on turnaround day for maintenance and prep work. Ideally Carnival would as well to accomplish this. I like policy changes that improve my vacation experience, not ones that detract from it.

Agree....for the cabins to be 100% ready, it can be done....have everyone debark by 10 and have the first people board at 1:30....problem solved

You asked what policy we would like to see changed.

Carnival only needs to bring on more terminal staff to avoid the big crowds.

Most of the things I'd ideally like to see come down to staff levels. I am aware service levels have been cut and you can't do a million things with the current staffing levels. So I guess, ultimately, it would be more staff so that everyone gets better service on their hard earned vacation.

Excellent idea. Once again it would come down to enforcement of the rules (and those who think rules don't apply to them).

Temporarily off topic: mooseman, if you would stack your countdown clocks vertically instead of having them side-by-side horizontally, then all of the posts on here wouldn't be stretched out so wide. It's incredibly annoying to have to scroll back and forth to read these posts.
