See What's Changed! Carnival Cruise from 1994, Capers and TV ads too!

We first cruised in 2002 I believe, on the holiday from New Orleans. I remember the placemats we used to get, the deck of cards from the casino and the formal nights. The midnight buffet was still there and we used to go to the back grill and get burgers, hot dogs and cheesesteak sandwiches. I used to go to the library to research cruise tips, we got our “tickets” in a book and had to wait to book excursions. I booked myself back then and now, never used an agent.

While I was a little young in 1994, I would have loved to have been there to look back at memories. It's so cool to see things evolve. Much more than complaining about what is no longer there.

I can't wait to look back 20+ years from now. We will laugh at the current ships and processes.

Holy cow, I wish I found his site and messageboard years ago!

I've only cruised twice, March 1994 on Carnival Celebration and 2006 on Royal Caribbean Sovereign of the Sea, both were enjoyable but vastly different types of cruises.

Don't get me wrong, there are great memories from both of them but Carnival was, for me and the friends I cruised with, more of a party boat (with formal night) while RC seemed to be a upper scale type of cruise for the older crowd, more family oriented.
Anyway, replying to a 12 year old thread I wouldn't expect anyone to see this but thanks for the video if you do see this, it brought back some great memories, just wish I had kept in contact with some of the friends I travelled with.

Just a silly photo from back then, 20 somethings with sunscreen and adult beverages, what could go wrong???

What's changed? The price. 3-day from PC in 1994 was $399 ($810 in today's dollars), while today it is less than $300. Think about that.

More people on board and you get less  included.i liked it better back then.just my .02...

There are other lines that still give you what Carnival used to. Carnival has chosen to continue offering affordable vacation options. If you would rather have the mid-level luxury experience, there are lines out there for you.

For my money I love a Carnival cruise, and many of my friends who have gone on other lines recently say the same.

That was awesome! Our first cruise was the maiden year of the Royal's Nordic Empress in 1990 and so much was similar. We were such cruising babies! Booked late an inside guarantee and ended up on the 10th floor with a outside! Couldn't stop hugging each other while jumping around!:D 19 cruises later, 14 on CCL have loved the changes and still love cruising. Really enjoyed the song, actually!

Our first cruise was on the Nordic Empress also. Our second was on the Holiday!
