Our cruise is around 5/6 weeks away. When are guarantee cabins normally allocated ?

We sail on the Regal Sept. 10 and are still waiting to see what cabin we receive.

It could be when you get to the dock. But normally would be assigned prior too that.

I once had one assigned two days before. It nearly drove me nuts waiting, LOL.

I was checking every day, several times a day :o

Oh, and btw we were assigned the same category we booked and paid for which is fine.

For our Alaska cruise in July, we got a cabin assignment about 3 weeks before sailing.

I am on the last leg of your 21-day cruise, the Athens to Rome leg, and the musical chairs of ports has been frustrating to say the least. You gave me my first laugh of the situation, and I appreciate that. :)

My friend just got assigned his cabin on the Royal 2 days prior to sailing. He got an awesome cabin. Mini Suite on top of the bridge facing forward. Balcony was 144sq feet.

It is almost never when you arrive for check in.

It will be up to 24 hours prior.

Just log in and look at either your travel summary/bag tags, they will reflect the cabin assignment.

You can do this up to sailing day.

 

Some may think its assigned at the pier but they did not check the personalizer before arriving at the pier for a cabin assignment.

 

Can it be assigned at the pier? Possibly, but most likely not.

Unfortunately, they are sometimes not assigned until very close to cruising time.

Once left for a flight east without a room and only got room assignment when landing to change planes. Was a nice upgrade . Had convinced my DW we were sleeping on deck. LOL

Usually lately we have been assigned GTY cabins either in the last week or last two weeks before the cruise.

 

Last year we had one assigned just 24 hours before the cruise.

We sail in 15 days and just got our cabin assigned today. We booked a BY Guarantee (Obstructed balcony) and got an Obstructed Deluxe Balcony. Did a google search for our cabin, and while I didn't find a photo of our view, I did find the view from the cabins on either side of us. Looks like we may have hit the Obstructed View Lottery!
