Veterans of 49 cruises but first with MSC. Did not know what to expect reading so many bad reviews. All we can say is don't believe the bad reviews.

We sail mostly with Princess and Holland America and MSC is just as good if not better.

What we like is that MSC is a family run company and they don't gouge like RCCL and other bottom line cruise lines. We like Manhattans and on RCCL they were 10 bucks, only 7.50 on MSC but we bought the 18 voucher pack and our average drink price came out to about 5.50 a drink. Prices in the Logo shop were very reasonable.

We thought in comparison to other lines the food was very good both in the buffet and the Black Crab restaurant.

We also thought the Loyalty Match Program is a great promo, we were upgraded to Black Card status due to our Elite status with Princess.

Entertainment in the Pantheon theatre and all the other lounges were excellent, we especially like the duo that performed every night in the La Luna lounge.

Had no problems with all the other nationalities on board. No rudeness by anyone including a lot of kids.

Service was super everywhere especially our Waiter and assistant and our cabin steward.

Enjoyed 3 dollar Blackjack minimum in the Casino, works for us fixed income retirees. Played Blackjack 3 sessions of about an hour each and won each time.

Feel free to ask questions and will try to answer all concerns.

Hi Mister67.....so glad to hear you enjoyed MSC. We are MSC newbies as well. Will be cruising in February on her. I do have a question about the music. My husband and I enjoy dancing to Motown, Beach Music, cha cha, etc. I have heard there are many live bands on MSC......do you know if any of them were playing that kind of music?

Thank you!

Thank you for your review Mister 67, so glad you enjoyed your first cruise on MSC. We're cruising over new year and know that there will be lots of children, so my question is, did you encounter any problems, loud screaming or running up and down hallways?

We've booked an aft balcony (Fantastica level) and hope to spend a few hours just gazing at the ocean...

Thanks for any thoughts,

Cheers,

Over 700 kids on our cruise but I can honestly say they were very well behaved.

There was a group that played at the 2 cocktail parties we attended that played the music you like as we do but we don't dance, we both have bad knees. I think most nights they played in the Golden Lounge.

I think my biggest problem will be finding all the venues, but I guess that's what deck plans are for... so the Golden Jazz Bar... is that it for the music of our times... :p deck 7 close to the art galeria, right?

Thanks for your help,

Yes Art Galleria is on 7. A lot of the lounges run right into each other. Just remember that deck 7 goes the full length of the ship, decks 5 and 6 go to about midship as you have the upper and lower levels of the Black Crab restaurant. we had most of our pre-dinner cocktails in the Silver Lounge on deck 6 and you could hear the music from the pianist and violinist in the Atrium on deck 5, we only had a few steps to dinner in the upper level of the Black Crab.

DH always used his bad knees as the reason he couldn't dance with me (even when I had a cast on my leg after achilles tendon surgery!)....but last year he got two new knees and on his 1 year visit with his ortho doc, he was told his knee are perfect!!!

Now he can (& WILL) dance with me!!

I'm ready to give them a try! I don't understand why my big agency doesn't book MSC?

No, problem I'll book with another!

We book directly with the line we decide to cruise with, we have personal cruise consultants with Princess, Holland America, MCS and RCCL.

Give it a try.
