Drink Package \ Divina Yacht Club

Hi there,

We are comped into yacht club and never been on MSC Divina on East Carib. From what I understand we get unlimited drinks only in Yacht Club. What has been the general takeaway on getting free drinks on the rest of the ship? I spend most of my time in the cigar bar, and drink 20 drinks a day, a majority outside of the casino and club. Should I get the unlimited premium drinks, or are yacht club members generally ok alcohol wise?

Anywhere outside YC you have to pay. You can take a drink out of YC, that's not a problem.

I enjoy a cigar in the lounge and had a beer in one hand and another two unopened in my other. Once seated I enjoyed the lot.

Other than that I spent my time in YC and Le Muse (same YC drink perks)

Get a package if you think you will need it. I was going to last time but decided not to, didn't need it.

Enjoy YC [emoji108]

We always get the all-inclusive drinks package when in YC as we hang out in the bars around the ship outside of the enclave where the entertainment is and running back and forth to YC for drinks is not for us! The only "entertainment" in Top Sail Lounge is either a pianist or violinist - ok for a relaxing evening but not my scene for every night! Though, the drinks package is only €26 pppd in the Med so it's well worth getting - maybe not so much on Divina @ $45 () Perhaps the drinks vouchers would work out well for you.

Not sure why you think that is any of your business when someone is on vacation (heck even when not on vacation) they are welcome to drink as much or as little as they want

We bought drink vouchers for use around the ship. We found that the alcoholic coffee drinks that we generally drink after dinner. We're so inexpensive that we really didn't need them. Depends on what and how much you drink.

We are thinking of getting a little booklet of tickets to cover other areas but then I was thinking maybe I will just walk back and forth to yacht club

This is a public forum, right? We all the right to post our opinions. I'm not saying that anyone is right or wrong but if the mods feel it's not appropriate, they'll deal with it.

For the most part, I'd say this forum is one of the best as far as offering very helpful information and non-inflammatory comments. I've learned a lot about our upcoming cruise and very grateful to those who offer helpful hints and tips.

Cheers,

I bought a book of 18 coupons before our last trip in YC and ran out after two days. Thereafter we just paid for the drinks we had outside the YC as the prices on MSC are quite reasonable anyway.

It also helped that after a few days we got "comped" in the casino (Blackjack) by the Gaming Manager.

We usually spent till at least 2am in the Top Sail lounge, free pours by the generous barman (who we tipped, out of sight of the security cameras), so I don't remember exactly how many 'standard' drinks we consumed.

Hey, you're on holiday!! 20 drinks a day IMHO is not outrageous, at least you will not be driving home!!

20 drinks a day?, easy to do. Hell even breakfast starts with a Bloody Mary or 2 [emoji849]

On another point, there was a rumour that the Meraviglia YC perks include drinks outside of the YC area? Anyone have any updates to the truth to this ?

I'd intended to spend my €400 OBC on an 'All-Inclusive Restaurant & Bar' drink package (soon to be formerly known as Allegrissimo :roll eyes:). If YC on Meravigliadoes become a genuine 'All-Inclusive' I guess I'll just have to find another use for it! :D

I may just indulge in a butler-accompanied shopping trip when the stores are otherwise closed to those in steerage :p (Tongue firmly in cheek here, folks!)

Best not get carried away 'til the rumours are confirmed, though, eh?

We bought the 18 drink voucher packet. I came home with 9 unused. Its very easy to nip up to the Top Sail Lounge to get refills!

Are the vouchers dated?

I remember on a Royal Caribbean cruise we found coupons that the previous guest left, in the bible. A few years ago that's what everyone on the Royal Caribbean boards was doing. ;)

Thanks for the elaborate replies. We primarily drink Grey Goose, does the yacht club carry that?

Also judging by your replies it sounds like it might make sense to get the package. I requested one from my Casino Host, we'll see if I get it. If not, I guess we'll pony up the cash...

I had wondered myself if they could be used on another cruise. No, they are not dated. They have a five digit numbered code on each ticket. I sort of assumed that code referenced our sailing date and they could not be used. Maybe someone else can chime in.

You are correct Helen.

As an aside,

Are formal nights for real on the MSC Divina? I remember back in the day people had real formal nights, but now a days, its kinda of a sham in the U.S. cruising markets. Should I really pack a suit, or are half the people going to put polos on that night?

I had another issue I needed to call about yesterday, so I asked. I was told that yes, it's being discussed but there isn't an implementation date yet.
