Has anyone had the opportunity to offer for something specific within a category like a 'Large Balcony' or an 'Aft Facing Balcony'?

 

We just got home from the Escape and really enjoyed our Aft facing balcony! I would love to upgrade to one again or one of the Large balcony Mini-suites.

I'm starting to get a little discouraged. We are sailing on Dec 3 and I placed 4 bids and have heard absolutely nothing. I have been monitoring the categories that I was eligible to bid on and there are definitely fewer cabins today then there were yesterday.

 

Are there anybody sailing on 12/3 that placed a bid and was accepted yet?

We are on the 12/10 sailing and our bid from balcony to mini suite was accepted on Friday, 10/21.

No, I bid $50 per person for a total of $100

 

That's all I bid for my OV to balcony. Bid $150pp for Mini-a tick more than the minimum. I have not heard back and it's been three weeks. I assume they will accept lower bids at the last minute or not at all. I will do my best to avoid bid fever and just stick with what I put in and see what happens. Good luck!

No. NCL could not tell me either. I don't even think the agents of the TAs know. Our TA was surprised to hear that news. I've seen a few post their TA on this or other threads, but your best best, if you want to try to upsell, is to book direct to be safe. Unfortunately I'm past final payment. We're happy with our balcony (although we MAY switch to an aft balcony for the extra balcony space), but would have been much happier in the Haven at a steep discount :-)

 

I emailed my TA (an online agency) earlier this week, and was told that they would check with their NCL specialist. A day or two later I received a response saying that they will be participating in the bidding program by Monday.

 

I'm still nervous about working through a TA & the possibility of not being able to bid. Not sure if we can post about specific agencies on here, but I'd love it if I could verify whether anyone else booked through them gets the email. Is it possible for people who are booked through a TA & get the email to post who the agency was, or is that against the rules here?

I doubt they will be participating by Monday. NCL picked out the agencies to include in this pilot run for a few months before going out fleetwide

We were upgraded from Family Oceanview on deck 5 to BB balcony on Deck 12, midship. We bid the minimum and seriously didn't expect to get the upgrade. Only knew because i saw the charge on my credit card today. Checked myNCL, and sure enough, new room number. I am going so surprise the family :)

Earlier in this thread someone posted a picture for us that showed that Inside to Balcony was a minimum of 50 pp. Wondering if the minimum is same no matter what category you start in or if it differs depending on your original category.
