ducklite Posted September 26, 2016 #51 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Why So Many people dont like smoke many people would prefer a adult only cruise Do I need to go though all Ten ? :D No not a private Yacht just a touch of class Frankly I thing I would like to see the old system of Three Classes re introduced First Class , Cabin Class and steerage This would provide a class of cruise to suit all people , and yes I would gladly pay more for First Class. and if you really think about it most cruise lines are tending in this direction with Ship within ship and so forth Who remembers the old P@O who had two classes and the White Star line with 3 classes , there were also many ships for 4 classes , you just paid your money and chose your class. regards John :D Why not just cruise on a line where the issues you mention aren't issues. I suspect the reality is that you aren't willing to put your money where your mouth is when push comes to shove.
Rare mac_tlc Posted September 26, 2016 #52 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Seems like most of the revenue generating items, or non-combinable discounts, or BOGO, is on all the lists. Personally, whatever they call it, the cruise cost $X. If I think its of value I book it, if not I don't -- regardless of what they call it. I wish they would not close the WJ at 9PM, when they have movies on the pool deck .Maybe leave an ice cream machine on for awhile? I wish they would not put all the same venues on all the ships. I understand why they do it, but some variety is good. mac_tlc

I suspect the reality is that you aren't willing to put your money where your mouth is when push comes to shove. Hi Unfortunately we have only a limited number of ships operating out of Australia So an adult only cruise ex Sydney or Melbourne is not possible very often My choice to to sail suites class . but this thread is a call for a wish list :p Like everyone I like to get the best possible value for my $$$ but I am quite happy to pay extra when I choose for example I am happy to fly bums on seats for say 3 hours or less but would not consider a long haul flight in anything less than business class Relate this to cruises I am quite happy with a smaller cheaper cabin from time to time but willingly pay for a better cabin when I can afford to I would prefer one good cruise to 3 "cheap" ones ....would prefer a nice apartment over a budget cabin in a caravan park , but have experienced them all Regards John:eek:

sweetlove13 Posted September 27, 2016 #57 Share Posted September 27, 2016 1. No smoking anywhere on ship. An unknown number of potentially inebriated & careless people with flammable objects they could put or throw anywhere on the ship just seems unsafe. 2. Sales pitches in the spa. I want to go there to relax not get the hard sell. 3. Rock hard beds. I'm on vacation & want to be pampered & comfortable. Stop being cheap Royal!!! cincicruisers Posted September 27, 2016 #59 Share Posted September 27, 2016 1. RCCL needs to go back to allowing your Diamond discount on balcony/suites. They don't allow the discount anymore with any other promotion. Basically it doesn't matter anymore if you are loyal to Royal. 2. Add/modify options for food in late afternoon and after midnight. 3. Remove charges associated with room service. 4. Smoking prohibits in the casino. Maybe add/modify a lounge inside that caters to the smokers. 5. Greet new cruisers with champagne when entering the ship.

travelbuddies Posted September 27, 2016 #62 Share Posted September 27, 2016 Overall I feel RCCL is a great value for the money. If I could wave my magic wand my wish list which imo would enhance the cruising experience for most: Smoking on one side of the ship and no smoking on the other side of the ship including balconies (no I don't smoke). Frequent cleaning and top notch ventilation system in casino. Never smells like that in Vegas. Better mattresses and pillows. New bedding not nearly as comfortable as in the past. Lounge chairs on the balcony. Music at the pool when the band isn't playing. Not allow small untrained service dogs on dinner table to pet and play for so called passenger comfort. Better compensation for the crew. Provide a published rate and not a daily sometimes hourly rate with a sale. Sales and promo's should be clear discounts off published rates. Do not overlap all C&A loyalty & Suite benefits. Prefer separate programs. (I am not suggesting either group not receive appreciation or less benefits just separate). Improve website and reservation system. (Worst of all my online shopping experiences)
KansasK Posted September 27, 2016 #63 Share Posted September 27, 2016 The "sales" in the promenade or other shopping areas. When I see those tables get dragged out, I make a point to avoid the area. On the Allure, they would set up the tables, load them with what they were selling, and then put yellow plastic tape (like crime tape) around the table area. People would gather outside the tape for the sale to begin. It seemed like they wanted to create a sense of mob control. I wish they would do away with the yellow tape and just put up a sign for when the sale opens.
KansasK Posted September 27, 2016 #64 Share Posted September 27, 2016 One perk they did away with, unless you ask, are the robes for C&A members who qualify. Rather than having us ask, why not have them offer and let us turn them down, if preferred.
negc Posted September 27, 2016 #65 Share Posted September 27, 2016 (edited) I know this is not popular, but give us our own lounge if need be.They know how many are coming. On Serenade's recent TA, Diamond Plus members DID have their own lounge - the Diamond Lounge, and Diamond members had the Safari Lounge for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the evening. Coupled with the three free drinks loaded on sea pass cards each evening it seemed to work reasonably well. Not a perfect solution but can you offer a better one? Knowing how many are coming doesn't guarantee anything if the numbers exceed lounge capacities. RCI may be the victim of its own success but I think that they try their best to deal with the hand they are dealt. (Sort of like on NCL in the Haven, so I've heard.) I don't like the "gap" between the WJ closing in the afternoon and the MDR's opening. I also don't like it when the pool towel stand is unmanned. If I had to scan my card to get one but there's nobody there to check it back in, where does that leave me?
racerxspeedy Posted September 27, 2016 #67 Share Posted September 27, 2016 Good stuff - I wish they would not serve nasty scrambled eggs and burnt coffee. I guess its a plan to reduce the amount of room service breakfast orders. It's working - as far as I am concerned.
kalliekae Posted September 27, 2016 #68 Share Posted September 27, 2016 Although I love Royal's ships, I would like a decent cup of coffee. Nothing fancy. Just good old plain black coffee. Plus, the next ship they build should have a large, wrap around Promenade deck that we can sit on and watch the ocean or stroll around. It should be large enough to accommodate runners and walkers. Rather than having us ask, why not have them offer and let us turn them down, if preferred. I'm pretty sure that if they're offered, or put in the cabin, they need to be washed afterwards. Even if the passengers don't use them. So instead of having to wash every single bathrobe after every sailing, they just need to do the ones that are requested (and thus probably used). Saves on laundry and water.
Bailey & Sophie Posted September 29, 2016 #70 Share Posted September 29, 2016 5. Greet new cruisers with champagne when entering the ship. Yes. I thought all cruise lines did this. It is so elegant! Last year upon boarding the Legend we were greeted with vacuuming. Nothing else, just someone vacuuming.

Best place on the ship to lie on the recliners and watch the ocean go by. Edited September 29, 2016 by PoppyandNana
Elvis1209 Posted September 30, 2016 #72 Share Posted September 30, 2016 It had been 10 years between RCCL cruises for us and I was surprised that there was no cigar lounge anywhere on the Oasis class ships. So, find a way to get one of them on each ship. Put 50 smoke eaters in each one too. Takes care of both sides of the argument. :) Sounds good to me! I can't believe they built the largest cruise ships in the world and didn't include an indoor cigar lounge! And, on the Voyager class ships, where they do have indoor cigar lounges, they seem to be doing away with them when the ship goes in for refurbishing! My friend, they are trying to tell us something! Elvis1209 Posted September 30, 2016 #73 Share Posted September 30, 2016 Stop being so restrictive on inside smoking, allow one inside bar to be smoking. Stop allowing smoking in the casino, as it flows right into the non smoking section. Go ahead and scratch your heads but I smoke and see both sides. I love the cigar lounge/bar on Freedom class where you can have a drink and cigarette inside where you can sit and relax and not have to go down and stand in the casino or go outside. Well said! sg1phileshipper Posted September 30, 2016 #74 Share Posted September 30, 2016 (edited) 1. Those hard beds 2. All that wasted paper in your cabin for the art auctions 3. And please, don't make your food so tasty. That way we can cruise and lose weight at the same time 4. Rude people that push and shove at sales. Folks, it not free, you still have to pay! 5. The naked guy on his balcony. I didn't need to see that right before dinner. Ewwwwww!!!!!
