NECruiser83 Posted October 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2016 In this case, being a 3 day on Harmony I would say stay on since you have such a short time on this awesome ship. Have fun!!! I am sailing her on the 12th [emoji3] Sent from my SM-G900V using Forums mobile app

kalliekae Posted October 30, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2016 Stay on the ship. You have such a short time to enjoy the Harmony, why not make the most of it?
mcchane1 Posted October 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2016 I'd stay on the ship. Just went into Nassau about a month ago and oersonally I think the ship will be a much nicer experience.
ckrobyn Posted October 30, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 30, 2016 Nassau is my least favorite port
cb at sea Posted October 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 30, 2016 It's not an "either/or" thing! You can get off for a short time,....then rebound...or stay on the ship...or get off for the full day! Your choice! Do what you want!
JordanLovesCruisin Posted October 30, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 30, 2016 I didn't mind Nassau or feel anymore unsafe than I do in say, Jamaica Sent from my iPhone using Forums
racerxspeedy Posted October 31, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 31, 2016 If its a nice day and you are into beaches you can grab a taxi to Cabbage beach. It's very nice, not far from the ship - nice way to spend the short time in port. There's Junkanoo beach next to the ship, but it's not nearly as nice as Cabbage. Rare splash_in_the_water Posted October 31, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 31, 2016 ahhhh Nassau. Yeah it's not the greatest, but we always figure it worth a walk around , maybe grab a t-shirt or 2.
adjjb12 Posted October 31, 2016 #11 Share Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) I'd probably not do anything in Nassau, but just get off for like an hour. Get a margarita yard at Senor Frogs and talk a walk down Bay Street to see the shops, buy a souvenir and get back on the ship. matj2000 Posted October 31, 2016 #12 Share Posted October 31, 2016 Why would you do a 3 day cruise? Not even long enough to unpack....
OCruisers Posted October 31, 2016 #13 Share Posted October 31, 2016 What we do in Nassau totally depends on how the weather is that day. :)
theboss7593 Posted October 31, 2016 #14 Share Posted October 31, 2016 Amazing how people think Nassau is dangerous... IF you stay to the tourist locations which I don't know why you wouldn't the danger does not exist... Then again a lot of you aren't from New York I take it either... Just ignore the homeless and peddlers... That's what I do...
Mnamom1105 Posted October 31, 2016 #15 Share Posted October 31, 2016 I find Nassau to be a short walk around port. I can tell you Harmony is a lot of fun. If you have been to Nassau before, I'd stay on the ship and wnjoy. Then again, many others may have the same idea! NoWhiners Posted October 31, 2016 #16 Share Posted October 31, 2016 If you've never been there before, get off, walk around, stretch your legs, see if you can find any nice t-shirts or other souvenirs, maybe go to Senior Frogs (but only for the antics, not the drinks). Once you have been there, you get all the comments about not getting off. If you've been there, you know all this, so you know what to do. have fun ML
grand isle joe Posted October 31, 2016 #17 Share Posted October 31, 2016 The problem with Nassau is getting back onto the ship and having to get through the pawing and groping masses back through customs. Not worth the effort IMO.

We have visited Nassau 35 times since 2009.... Probably gone ashore half of those times... Sometime just a quick walk over to Sr. Frogs for a Margarita and Lunch... Neither my wife or I have every been Pawed or Groped in Nassau. And they do not have a CUSTOMS check... Just port security that does a quick look at you seapass card and a photo id (drivers license). JHU Posted October 31, 2016 #22 Share Posted October 31, 2016 Just disembarked from the Grandeur in Baltimore two hours ago. We overnighted in Nassau because it was too windy to tender in Coco Cay. Went ashore both days. People were pleasant everywhere although vendors in straw market are persistent (nothing much worthwhile there other than the wood carvers). As previously stated, no customs headed to the ship, just port security. We had four ships in port but only two security checks that were rather cursory. Enjoy Nassua if you've not been there before or recently. Loved our little Lady G. (Grandeur OTS).

Rare BillOh Posted October 31, 2016 #24 Share Posted October 31, 2016 I don't know why Nassau cannot fix that mess. No other ports have this bottle neck of people trying to get back onto the piers. This is one good thing about Oasis and Allure (on previous schedules) departing earlier, less people coming back to the ship at 1-2pm. I thought NCL Sky was supposed to be in port with us, but 2 weeks ago Majesty was the only ship on a Wednesday, and it was no lines. I have been there with 4 other ships. To the OP, that might be a point to consider, how many other ships in port?
Rare island lady Posted October 31, 2016 #25 Share Posted October 31, 2016 Why would you do a 3 day cruise? Not even long enough to unpack.... There are passengers that won a free cruise on the latest contest. I guess you were not one of them? ;)
