nyer Posted November 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2016 My DH and I are diamond level on RCI. If we cruise on Celebrity does that status transfer over? Do we get points for our cruise and do we receive the diamond vouchers on our seapass? Thanks for any help.

However, they will recognize you as Elite level because of your Diamond status. Your perks will be those of Elite on Celebrity. For details, check the Captain's Club info on the Celebrity website. Clarea Posted November 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2016 (edited) Thank you, Bob. I knew that you would have the answer. You're welcome. I should have also mentioned that you should call Captain's Club and get your reciprocal status arranged. Celebrity used to have some sort of free category upgrade for Elite, so you might save a few bucks. Edited November 4, 2016 by clarea

The perks are different to those on RCI. However it is important to note that you will not receive C&A points for this cruise, and it will not effect your C&A tier in any way. Also if you decide you like X and you cruise with them several more times, you are effectively starting with zero points so it will be an awful long time until you will reach enough points to move up to Elite Plus. I believe the answer to your question is No. That's why we waited to get Diamond on RC before heading to Celebrity. Once they've matched, they don't change it without you earning it. Yes, when you move to Diamond on RCI you will automatically be moved up to Elite on X. If it doesn't happen just give them a call. My whole statement from my prior post about being Elite but not having the correct amount points (300+) applies. Also Diamond/Elite is highest tier within the reciprocal agreement. They do not match Diamond Plus to Elite Plus. You have to earn the appropriate amount of points with the programme to reach those next tiers. And Pinnacle doesn't match with Zenith either! debshomespun Posted November 4, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 4, 2016 Once you make D on RCI, you will automatically be Elite on Celebrity. This is correct BUT you need to call Captain's Club to be sure you get the correct status. Celebrity needs to enroll you in Captain's Club as it is not automatic. Celebrity Elite has some great perks!

griffy116 Posted November 5, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 5, 2016 We're Diamond on Royal and cruising Celebrity for the first time in June. Our TA got our Captain's Club number and we will get the Elite status and the perks. They're different from Royal but we are excited.

As indicated, you are entitled to reciprocal tier level benefits but Celebrity's loyalty program is different from RCI's and they do not have those vouchers. And as Bob said, the points you earn stay with Celebrity when cruising on them just as the points you earn stay with RCI when cruising on them. In essence, you are Elite on Celebrity but with actual points earned starting at zero in their program. Langley Cruisers Posted November 5, 2016 #17 Share Posted November 5, 2016 Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to seeing the difference between the two lines. A couple of the differences include Celebrity's no indoor smoking policy (smoke-free casino!), and the level of service and food is higher than Royal (my opinion, obviously). Have fun. We loved our one X cruise and bought a credit for another cruise - someday!:)

nyer Posted November 5, 2016 Author #19 Share Posted November 5, 2016 Thank you everybody for your helpful replies. We are trying Celebrity because we want to do the Panama Canal cruise. Royal does not offer that itinerary. If they did, I would definitely sail with them. I am looking forward to having a new experience with a new cruise line. We found the fastest way to move up is to book AQUA class or SUITES if you can afford them. Our first cruise with Celebrity was in Jan. 2008 and we reached Elite + in Feb. 2015. We had a few Royal cruises in between or we would have reached Elite+ sooner. If you can afford to book AQUA I suggest you do so as you will have an awesome restaurant BLU and not have to eat in MDR. Our main reason for switch to Celebrity was their smoke free atmosphere in most areas of ship. We can not go to casino on Royal due to the smoky atmosphere, thus saves us money. Hope you enjoy Celebrity as much as we have over the years. Happy Sails

Arubamoose Posted November 5, 2016 #23 Share Posted November 5, 2016 We always said that the best thing about being Diamond on Royal is automatically being Elite on Celebrity. Granted some of their perks are not as good but there are a few that are awesome - free laundry - great breakfast in Elite lounge with Mimosas and Bloody Mary's - Elite happy hour. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Unfortunately the happy hours are shorter and not offered on embarkation day or Captains night v every night on RCI with longer hours. RCI also offers the 3 drink vouchers during that time for use at other bars around the ship in addition to unlimited in the DL. RCI also offers laundry perks, balcony discounts, etc. Don't get me wrong, we really liked Celebrity and will definitely sail with them again, but the loyalty program is just not as strong. But with the new President at RCI who is the ex-Celebrity President, who knows, that could all change...... Edited November 5, 2016 by leaveitallbehind
Snit13 Posted November 6, 2016 #25 Share Posted November 6, 2016 Unless I read incorrectly you did not mention the Free Internet as an Elite and Elite+. We always have more than we can use. Also, free laundry and pressing. You must be booked AQUA or suite to eat in BLU.
