Kiwi Kruzer Posted January 19, 2017 #176 Share Posted January 19, 2017 Looks like they are having to work hard to keep the ship against the dock. From the port cam , a tug is holding the bow and it looks like the aft thrusters are working as well. Must be a strong wind? local time 1.30 afternoon. Opua Kiwi Posted January 19, 2017 #180 Share Posted January 19, 2017 Looking at the Port of Otago website; about 11am Harbour gusts (10 min max) of 50kts. Taiaroa Heads gust (10 min max) 71kts. Has reduced a bit now, but will be interesting to see what their Taiaroa wind speed limit is for departure. As we know, a demanding channel that one. According to her future track on Marine Traffic AIS she will head right up to the City , and dock in Dunedin. Can ships still get up there? Cool, she may come in first while the Ovation waits for better wind speed and direction.

Still not leaving @ 7 In fact we are never leaving here......... NOOOOOOO Thats the question mark over Fiordland. What happens to the ships tour people if the ship cant pick them up again ? They will have to wear the cost of flying them out and back to Sydney. A similar thing happened one year but they managed to call them back to the ship after they got half way.
