What happens to any unused Inc at the end of a sailing? Our gratuities were prepaid by our TA. Our 1 ship excursion has been reserved and reqd pre payment. We don't frequent the spa, gift shops, etc and still will likely have some obc also from our TA remaining at the end of the wk.

Previous cruises this has been retd to us in the form of a check on the last nt. However, been several yrs since we have been in this "predicament". Usually the gratuities take care of any obc, but this trip we recd both tips and gratuities.

Thanks

If you have excess refundable OBC, you can get a cash refund by visiting Guest Services on the last evening of the cruise. If you don't get a cash refund, and you have secured your onboard account with a credit card, then they will automatically refund the excess OBC to the credit card.

I have obc from my TA that I will not be using. I was told I can get it back in cash the day before we disembark. I'm on the Anthem

That is correct and is a fleetwide policy. It can be cash the day before or credit to your credit card on the final day. We just did the cash option on Navigator.

You can go to the Casino Cashier and cash OBC out. You may be charged a fee for this service. The intent is to use the cash for Casino play but it is not enforced. If you are a Club Royale VIP, the cashing fee is waived.

Guest services will cash out the OBC at n/c.

We usually keep track of our Onboard Account Balance. It it looks like there is a surplus of OBC the last day of the cruise we will usually go to the shops and get some nice after shave or perfume or both. Sometime a cruise in review dvd.

They won't cash out non refundable OBC. Only the refundable.

I know what the terms Refundable and Non Refundable mean. Can someone explain the differences as it applies to Royal. We have always been able to cash out OBC in the Casino. We were given $x in OBC for Park West purchases and cashed out in the Casino. I had no clue there was a difference.

Thanks

Another use for leftover OBC is for extra tips. There is a form you can fill out at guest services to add tips. You do need the person's name and job title. Over time I have done extra tips for my cabin attendant, wait staff, the Diamond/Concierge lounge bar staff (group tip) and the Concierge depending on the cruise and level of service.

Usually any OBC issued by Royal is non refundable. It was part of a promotion or a goodwill gesture...use it or lose it.

OBC offered by a travel agent is in most cases refundable as it was a perk offered as an incentive to book by the travel agent.

The difficulty lies in determining which OBC from a travel agent is refundable vs non refundable as some OBC from the TA is actually from Royal and just passed along.

Generally if your OBC shows up on your guest booking invoice it is non refundable.

Unused OBC that is non refundable can be withdrawn in cash (or vouchers) from the casino as Troy mentioned above.

It's worth paying the 5% fee to get a couple of hundred $ in non refundable OBC returned in cash as opposed to forfeited.

Sometimes (for me anyway) it is worth paying the 5% not to have to stand in line at GS to get the money. Sometimes the lines on the last day are very long.

OBC from the cruise line is usually non-refundable. This includes OBC from booking on board, OBC as a booking perk, OBC from shareholder benefit, OBC from group booking GAP points, etc.

it would cost you 5% but you can always take that unused OBC out at the casino on the last night. For example if you get them to run your bill early that evening and you are not buying drinks etc. you can get the amount of unused OBC back at the casino in cash. If they owe you $175 it will cost you 8.75 for example.

We booked a cruise onboard through Next Cruise. We applied the OBC to the cruise we were on. We also received a OBC from Park West. We used some onboard and cashed the remaining out for Casino play. Are these Non Refundable OBC???

OBC from Next Cruise is non-refundable. I'm not familiar with OBC from Park West.

If in doubt guest services can tell you whether your OBC is refundable or non refundable as they are coded differently in their system. Can't remember if this shows up on your in room account viewing on your TV.

Non refundable is supposed to be used first to offset any charges to your account.
