I have always had great trips on NCL. The best though was on the Sun in 2005 in the casino. I won every single day in the casino except the last day when I lost 19 thousand. I still walked off the ship with 42 thousand more than I started with all from table games. It was great when I wiped out all of the chips in the dealers rack twice. Cashing in 29 thousand once and they had to get more cash from the safe, great feeling. It was an awesome trip. There were 27 family members. I paid all of their bills at the end of the cruise and felt great doing it. The best part was that I had not planned on gambling much on the cruise and had only a 1 thousand dollar gambling budget. With my play I was also comped suites on my next two cruises. I had to slap myself a few times when the trip was over to see if I was dreaming or not.

Spent NYE with Family and Friends on the Dawn this year. Sailing carried over to my birthday 6 days later and partied all day with another 6-8 new friends. What a hoot! That night also happened to be the White Hot Party! Let do it again every year. Best Birthday evah!!!! [emoji106][emoji16]

I know he is no longer with NCL, but our cruise director on the Spirit, Paul Sacally, was by far the best CD I had ever had, and brought the quality of the entire trip up a couple notches. It seems my DW (girlfriend at the time) and I did get some special attention from him since we met him at the M&M and from there were pretty active in the cruise programming and contests (we even won the "Perfect Couple" competition, which I think his familiarity with us pushed the final decision in our favor), so that may be tinting my opinion of him a bit rosey. Either way, more than any other CD, he seemed to be everywhere at once, and always happy to just have a short conversation or banter with any guests, and he definitely remembered faces quite well and made sure to make many people on ship feel like he was their new best friend.

I was especially impressed when one night he randomly showed up at the night club at 2:30 am and declared an impromptu drink special and did shots with us all, only to see he was hosting some morning calisthenics event 4 hours later up on deck. The dude was a machine, and while I know CC has mixed feelings about his humor/talent as a standup, I found his brand of comedy pretty refreshing for the cruise market at the time (2009).

Funny moment was wife went to toilet as I walked into a bar in the middle of a gay meeting, ordered the drinks in a gruff voice but the night was very entertaining & fun. Best was sailing out of Miami late at night on a aft balcony

Enough of all the complaining we need something to brighten up everybody. Now we all know if you come here you know all the ins and outs of cruising and have been on so many trips, so what is your best or favorite experience ever?

Hands down it was being in the Haven for a week on the Epic.

What in the world did you play? And what a kind thing you did, paying the bills for everyone.

Mostly blackjack. Once I started winning I was playing 2 hands at 1k(table max) each. It seemed like whenever I hit 15 or 16 I would not break. If the stakes were higher I would have easily won 6 figures. A casino host came up to me on the Breakaway in 2013 and asked if I remembered him, he was actually the cashier from the 2005 Sun trip.

Gem in October, hitting a Royal Flush was the highlight of my gambling career!

Other great moments, the 21 hour drink fest, on the Spirit in January. Sea day, started with Irish coffees and mimosas at breakfast, ran into our favorite bartender while having a few pops at Blue Lagoon around 11, more drinks by the pool, a short nap then drinks in the Galaxy until dinner time. Back to Galaxy after dinner, with Norm doing his best to get us pissed. Went to the casino from there and ran into Norm again at about 3 am, having a nightcap and some chicken wings in the Blue Lagoon. Nice steady buzz all day, but still on our feet. He couldn't believe we were still at it!

And just about every moment of the cruise I took with my mom in April. She has never been on anything like it and was amazed the whole time. It was a wonderful trip.

Ha! As part of the same night I referenced in my post above, my husband and our friend were drinking Aviations, which are purple martinis. Our friend is a tall, fit, handsome, 50+ man who can also really wear a nice shirt, if you know what I mean. we left the Galaxy and went to the casino, where my girlfriend and I played all night. The guys wandered back to the nightclub/bar behind the casino, not knowing there was a Friends of Dorothy Party in full swing. In walks our friend, who has a bit of a swagger, especially when he's had a few, in his light gray paisley shirt and his purple martini and all the men in the bar were like "Hello, sailor!" My husband, who immediately knew what they'd walked into just laughed while he watched our friend figure it out, turn heel and swagger back out to the casino.

Funniest story my husband ever tells.

Helicopter excursion : flying into the live Volcano on Montserrat Island.

.

I agree, helicopter excursion. We flew over western Maui and Molokai on our first cruise. That was amazing and something we will remember forever!

The pink sky the night we left Fanning Island was amazing too!

Wonder if we were on the same cruise? I cruised I think it was the Sea out of NYC up the east coast in June of 2001. I remembered the captain narrated the trip out of NYC describing things as we passed. He state how many worked in the World Trade Centers and it blew my mind as more people worked there than live in my small city. And then I cruised out of NYC in June of 2002 and it was very sad. I'm sorry about the loss of your love.

After an amazing week on the Dawn last spring break, seeing the tears roll down my kids checks as we rode the escalator watching the ship in through the window. Sailed on the Disney Wonder the year before and didn't get close to this reaction.

Was worried reading the bad reviews on here and everything didn't go perfect(nothing ever will), but we loved our time on her.

The last sea day on the gem cruising back to NYC in Jan 2016

Just me and my 2 college kids

Up on the sun deck in 80 degree sun

Sitting and chatting all day long with other like minded folks from New York who were also cruising with their college kids

The most down to earth logical thinking realistic people I've ever had the pleasure to meet

Parents and kids !!!! Not a snowflake among them...
