nordski Posted March 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2017 On another thread, "What's Included?", there is a rather passionae discuission concerning the best mixer on board for a G&T. This is a rather "exotic" drink and foreign to my experience. So when I indulge is there an especially appropriate location to enjoy my drink? I am thinking The Library, but no doubt there is a more appropriate ambience. Thanks for the suggestions.
SteveH2508 Posted March 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Depends on the weather. Being a smoker (Yes, I know!), I liked most of my G&Ts in the smoking area with my new found friends. Casino was another of my hangouts. Basically, anywhere that I was, was a good place for a G&T!

The Living Room perhaps might be more appropriate.
TravelBugM Posted March 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2017 If the weather is nice, Sunset Bar on Deck 9. If weather is cooler, The Living Room on Deck 10. We also quite like the bar in Prime C. Not known to many as it's probably only thought for use by those dining at the specialty restaurant.
rainbowhays Posted March 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Speaking of drinks, having read many Azamara reviews I am surprised to find very little mention of the bartenders onboard. Is there a reason for this? I would like to know who is the best bartender, especially when it comes to making cocktails. I will be interested to read your comments on this. TravelBugM Posted March 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Best bartender on our last Quest cruise was Ruby. She worked the pool bar during the day and Prime C bar at night.

Rare uktog Posted March 12, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Anywhere is good. Sitting at the tables by the pool bar late afternoon, pre dinner in the living room or outside at the Sunset Bar after dinner listening to music in the bar by the casino very late night in Mosaic - anywhere is good and any time is gin o'clock and any bartender is good! excitedofharpenden Posted March 12, 2017 #12 Share Posted March 12, 2017 I have a good friend whose favourite spot for her first G & T on the ship is the Sunset Bar. Any place that has a bar though is a good spot. Those of us brought up in the 70s vividly remember seeing this advert at the cinema: I don't even like to name names of bar tenders and servers. I know them better on Journey than Quest and they are starting to swap them around, but my experience on Journey has consistently been they are all the best. A really great bunch of personalities. Spursgirl Posted March 12, 2017 #14 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Best bartender on our last Quest cruise was Ruby. She worked the pool bar during the day and Prime C bar at night. Ruby is a fabulous woman. I so hope she is on Quest in May as we haven't enjoyed her company for a while. Mariano is also a great barman and a very kind man. Rabo Posted March 12, 2017 #15 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Best Bartender . . . my vote would have to be for Michael in the Journey Living Room. First afternoon on board, I told Michael that my wife liked spicy vodka and tequila drinks. He said he didn't have anything, but to check back after dinner. Then, and everyday after, he had jalapeño peppers to muddle in her drinks. We were there most days around 5:30 and within minutes he had the "usual" drinks for our group of four. Lottie A Posted March 13, 2017 #16 Share Posted March 13, 2017 All the Azamara bar tenders are great but Ruby, Mariano, Ness, Dale, Norman and Jacques are the stand outs for me. Any bar is good for a G&T but my favourites are the Sunset Bar, Spirits Bar and The Living Room.
tv24 Posted March 13, 2017 #17 Share Posted March 13, 2017 The bar in Prime C is a special place. Quiet and peaceful and elegant. They will definitely take care of you and remember you for the next time.

nordski Posted March 13, 2017 Author #19 Share Posted March 13, 2017 Many thanks for the suggestions so far re: location on the ship to enjoy my first G&T. Although I thought I knew the venues quite well, these ideas have certainly expanded the options for consideration. So much so, that I may be experiencing this new drink rather more often than I originally anticipated. :)

excitedofharpenden Posted March 13, 2017 #21 Share Posted March 13, 2017 did not know that you could just go in for a Drink Oh yes and Aqualina too. They have a caviar bar at Aqualina if you want it, but I always thought Prime C had more atmosphere. The stools at the bar are heavy though. tv24 Posted March 13, 2017 #22 Share Posted March 13, 2017 did not know that you could just go in for a Drink Yes you can, but only when the restaurant is open. So not possible at sail-away time.
rainbowhays Posted March 13, 2017 #23 Share Posted March 13, 2017 It is good to hear your enthusiasm for your favourite bartenders and bars. It has made me even more eager to board Quest. BillC Posted March 13, 2017 #24 Share Posted March 13, 2017 If you don't want to sit at Prime C.s bar there usually are several tables near the entrance for you to use.
