Why is Project Leonardo...

Recommended Posts

Here's a non-sarcastic answer:

It's likely the name of the the first ship in the series. Remember Project Breakaway? Have you pondered Celebrity's Edge Project?

I speculated earlier that NCL might be moving a way from its "Norwegian ______" naming convention and going back to an era when NCL ships had simpler names like Seaward and Crown. And if that's the case, we can expect the other 3-5 ships in the Leonardo class to also feature the names of Renaissance artists. This would make me very happy because manyof the Norwegain ______" ship names don't make any sense. Are there pearls or jade or breakaways in Norway?

Thank goodness they're moving away from complex names like Joy, and Bliss.... Leonardo is much easier to remember.

Well most ship projects are obviously named by the marketing department to sound new and impressive: Celebrity Edge, Project Genesis, The World Class, The Global Class etc.

But why a person's name - Leonardo?

Who on earth is Leonardo?

i hope they paint the ninja turtle with the same name on the bow as the new mascot.

4 Turtles, 4 ship names and maybe splinter and april, that would be great.

the ncl version of the msc seaside was a bad name, so they need one.

Why start a new thread to ask this question? Why not ask it in the thread already discussing Project Leonardo?

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2471684

Cruise Critic has moderators, and they enforce the rules. I don't think you are one. Why clog up a thread with a self-appointed moderator-type post that has nothing to do with the question the OP asked?

Curious, but isn't that exactly what you just did? And what I might be considered to be doing, presently?

Pretty straight forward.... his parents named him Leonardo.... it would be Project Ralph if his parents named him Ralph

Our friends are a builder and he has named the streets in the developments after his family, kids included so this was my first thought too lol
