Early dinner not an option

Recommended Posts

Why would early dinner seating not even be offered 10 months out? Our choices were MTD or Late seating.

Choose MTD and ask to be put on a waitlist for early MDR.

Pick late for now, check back in a month and it will be the other way around. Early open but late closed. I book a year in advance and one of the other seating option is always closed.

I actually want late dinner seating but thought it odd that early seating would be so booked already. I did a google search and could not come up with a large group on board that week.

I suspect that travel agents are given large blocks of staterooms early on and they get dining slots. As the cruise approaches final payment date, it seems that dining slots open.

We booked HOS a year in advance, and the only seating left was MTD. We were put on a waitlist for early. We ended up getting early seating, by asking to be seated with some CC friends who had early seating.

A large group may have the MDR first seating. Google you Cruise and see if a large group is onboard.

That is a common answer, and in at least one cruise I was on, that was the case. Too complicate that , the large group had a meeting on the first night that ran late so they showed up late and didn't leave till 2nd seating was about to begin.
