Kat1824 Posted September 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2017 ok so which midsize ncl ship is your fave and why and which one has the most pools?
Rare BirdTravels Posted September 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2017 The Escape (which is not a midsize ship). Most of the midsize whips have gone through a major dry dock recently, so the are in good shape.

Azure Moon Posted September 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2017 I have always loved the Jewel Class ships for Spinnaker Lounge, Great Outdoors, size, amenities, fun decor. And I still do, but they have been edged out of the lead just by a tad by the Spirit. I and my family absolutely love the tiered outdoor decks on the back of the ship, the front lounge, the little bit smaller size (or is that just the feeling I get?), and the decor. Pools, I don't use so don't notice number of them and size of them. Sorry.

Just booked my first NCL Cruise last week - didn't realise I'd have to row ... :)
marchie1053 Posted September 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2017 The next one I am cruising on!!! Sounds good! We booked our first NCL Cruise last week (exactly 7 days ago - but whose counting until the 20th January 2018 departure date? - Well me and Mrs Marchie for starters!). :D Really looking forward to our time on the NCL Sun and discovering American cruising - we have cruised on only British cruise ships of the smaller size (largest 145o'ish, smallest about 870 passengers) where the 'latest technology' extends no further than having a working lift so we will have an awful lot to discover and to learn! Keeps the brain working (about as well as that lift ...!).

Maybe it is because it was my first freestyle experience, maybe it is because the have tapas every night, maybe it is because the cabins are just a little larger. I don't know but I do know I love the ship. It does have one problem: the buffet is very small, but that is ok, we managed just fine. I have sailed her 3 times. Also love the Jewel class, we are about to take our 4th on the Pearl.
jpcdds6 Posted September 19, 2017 #11 Share Posted September 19, 2017 Any Jewel class. They are well designed and at almost 100,000 tons, the perfect size and capacity. Spirit is a unique and beautiful vessel as well.
caribsun Posted September 19, 2017 #12 Share Posted September 19, 2017 Jewel Class is just the right size.

Tatka Posted September 19, 2017 #16 Share Posted September 19, 2017 Gem is much better after retrofit, but in some reason we enjoyed Jewel the most. Spirit is a cute smaller ship.
Diver2014 Posted September 19, 2017 #17 Share Posted September 19, 2017 The Pearl Love that ship. Definitely the Pearl! Gorgeous, classy ship. Been sailing on Pearl twice. Of course, my all time favorite will always be the Norway (sniff! sniff!).
DMH15 Posted September 19, 2017 #18 Share Posted September 19, 2017 I have cruised Sun x 2, Jewel x 2, Dawn and Epic. I love the Sun, but a lot has to do with my corner aft PH and huge balcony. But I love the smaller ship size too. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
weltek Posted September 19, 2017 #19 Share Posted September 19, 2017 I'm still trying to figure out how we haven't sailed a Jewel class ship. Bummer. In order, from favorite to less-favorite (I can't say that I dislike any!) of the ships still in service: Escape (until another has the Brewhouse, this will always win) Getaway Star Spirit Dawn Sky
jpcdds6 Posted September 19, 2017 #20 Share Posted September 19, 2017 I love the Pearl, but I hate her hull art. Will be on her Dec. 5th.

newbie68 Posted September 19, 2017 #22 Share Posted September 19, 2017 We really like the perfect sized Jewel class but especially the Pearl. Of all the cruises we have been on the Pearl had the best crew by far ! Also the thermal suite in the Pearl is very relaxing.
casofilia Posted September 19, 2017 #23 Share Posted September 19, 2017 We cruised the Star from Civitavecchia to Singapore and the crew on that cruise really made it a wonderful cruise; thanks Djamel, Messiah and Hanno especially but just about everyone was marvellous. roboclam Posted September 19, 2017 #25 Share Posted September 19, 2017 We enjoy the "Jewell class" ships the most have been on 3 of them, doing the Pearl again in 2019...Loved each of our cruises with NCL but our last one in Jan of 2017 on the Jade was by far our best cruise and experience...Really liked the ship (before refurbish) thought the service and crew were great...Looking forward to our next...
