Morning all from southeast Pennsylvania. Here to see Chris's Dad this weekend. No cooking for a few days but tomorrow we'll stock up on vegetables at a great local market before we head home for a week on call.

Enjoying all of the posts and welcome to the new coolers stopping by!

Davey, you're even younger than I am. Not fair!

Have a great weekend everyone.

G’Day All.....lovely to see new coolers and to catch up on all the news....

It’s been a busy week clearing out two sheds and the garage and finally after four years emptying boxes that moved here with me...such a great feeling and fun finding stuff I hadn’t seen for a while!

I hired a skip and cajoled my handyman into help so the task was easy and some lovely memories have unfolded including the mini silver shoes that adorned my parents wedding cake in 1951..the problem now is what to do with them as l doubt the next generation will have any interest.

So sorry to read that SS have not come good for Jeff and Dave......interesting to also read the other negative reviews...

The balcony looks so beautiful as usual Jeffers and your food delish.....glad Helga performed well!

M....your daily delights continue to amuse one!

JP....your family gathering looked fabulous...hope you are enjoying this weekend...

Mud...so sorry that your house fell through....it wasn’t meant to be.

Trump made his mark with the visit this week didn’t he....sheer verbal diarrhoea and he doesn’t give a toot....just relieved to see he didn’t grab HM’s hand...🙈

Surprised Mrs May wore red.....maybe it reflected her mood!

England lost but the excitement of the Wimbledon finals beckon....I’m hoping Novak will win....see the Sussex and Cambridge Duchesses have taken their seats....

Happy Weekend

S😊

Chuckling away here. You do get em.

That’s as bad as the one that called me over to her table to complain about the broken glass that was all over her Salt and pepper fill of sea bass. Needless to say the broken glass was actually halen mon sea salt. Or the nasty neighbour that is now barred from the hotel, she marched around to reception and slammed a bowl of nuts on the counter and shouted loudly “ these peanuts are mouldy” it gave me no satisfaction at all to respond just loud enough for the assembled onlookers to hear ““**** those peanuts are pistachios”

The first SS cruise we did many many moons ago - a fellow passenger in the MDR sent his Osso Buco back because it had a bone in it!! I can still see the waiters face but he was admiral and did as was requested.

Jackie, I use the airfryer wherever a convection oven or fryer ... so everything from charsiu to wings or breadcrumb prawns ..

.... the pizza oven is the oven on the right ... it takes over two hours to get to max heat but produces authentic neapolitan pizza ..

Jeff,

Thank you so much for responding to my post with so many lovely photos. My mouth is now watering and I wish I could take a bite of some of the dishes through the computer:D.

I had not thought about our toaster/convection oven as being able to do what the air fryer can do. Think I'll have to do some experimenting this weekend.

Thanks again.

Jackie

Evening All.....

Question for Jeffers along with anyone else who wishes to chime in.....have a full day and night post cruise next year in Nice...( due to odd flight schedules).....looking for hotel recommendations that will satisfy ones desire for luxury as well as some decent retail therapy...😊

OMG! And just what are you doing over here, Miss Jackie? (giggling as I write this!). I must admit, this is the very best thread for food porn! Maybe we can convince you and Dennis to join us one of these days. That's of course, if all this MESS ever gets straightened out!!! LOL!

Another funny....I'll try to keep it short.

John, myself and my two parents rented a car and toured France, back in the early 80's when the dollar was king. We stopped in a tiny hamlet for dinner. The place looked like it was straight out of Robin Hood with thatched roof, timbers, dark, lit with candles. OOOO! This was wonderful. Place was packed. We, the lone Americans....We ordered and asked for the house white wine. Glasses were produced and a lovely ceramic jug put on the table. I poured some in each of our 4 glassses. We noted that it looked lovely, although quite pale. It was basically pitch dark except for the few candles. We toasted each other as the other diners looked on at the (dumb, stupid?) Americans.....Yup, it was light, very light...so light it was water! We of course disolved into laughter as did all of the onlookers. Felt like complete fools, but everyone else laughed and we most certainly did at our stupidity! Memorable faux pas!

On our recent cruise MissSophia part of one of the tours we did was a beautiful little village not a million miles from Nice called Eze. There was a lovely Relais & Chateaux there called la Chèvre d'or. Didn’t stay there but seemed lovely and we both said we would really like to stay there.

Good evening ....

As you know, we had a place in Nice for a while and then decamped for a winter in Villefranche.

There are no really decent hotels in Nice, and whilst Eze is a scenic tourist place for a day, I would consider Bealiue-sur-mer (when spelt correctly} and if you feel like amreal once in amlifetime splurge then La Reserve. It’s a gorgeous compact village. Here is some initial stuff and previous stuff from me under my old name ... there is a bus stop outside Reserve that gets you into Nice in a few minutes. Walks and other local stuff. The Stones had their mansion a few hundred yards away in the good days ... but that is another thread ..... for another day.

“Uncle Michael” use to stay in La Reserve .... you remember him ... ;)

I hesitate to raise the subject yet again but..

Cruise Law News must be channeling Jeff and Davey , he just posted this link on fb

https://wgnradio.com/2013/02/15/a-maritime-lawyer-on-the-carnival-triumph/

tgh,

As Dave and I have explained many, many, many times UK consumer law is different ie it exists, and UK Consumers can ignore Silversea Ts&Cs whereas US custromers are bound by them. Bill Leff's comments have no relevance whatsoever in the UK.
