First time in a suite

We always take a Suite. Penthouse or Owners if we can. You will love it from the fresh flowers and fruit to priority tenders, embarkation and disembarking. You will love being spoilt. Have a great time.

Basic question. Is a mini suite on Princess actually considered to be a "suite" with amenities as outlined in this thread -- a complimentary dinner, etc.? Thank you. I've booked a mini suite on a short coastal cruise -- just to try it and surprise my DH. Your input is appreciated.

A mini does not get the perks of a full suite. The cabin is larger and you get a bathtub (important to me).

Please do address laundry quality' date=' especially on the Caribbean princess. I typically pack for a 7 night cruise and do laundry for longer ones, so....since my upcoming is a long one, I was looking forward to NOT doing my own laundry.[/quote']Laundry was great. In 10 days we sent out 3 bags. Everything but under garments came back on hangers. Be forewarned that they put a little tag in each piece (I think it's an iron on piece of fabric) it has a number on it, I'm assuming to track whose laundry is whose.

I had laundry done on Emerald. Sent out in morning and back that afternoon; no charge. They did mess up a couple buttons on a dress shirt; sent it back and they replaced with new matching buttons

We got all stressed out on our first Princess cruise. We were in a suite and wanted to make sure we could take advantage of the complimentary specialty restaurant on the first night, but we were unable to get through to dining reservations. We walked into the Crown Grille at 8:00 and sheepishly asked if they had room. They sat us immediately and told us that the specialities are set aside for suite passengers on the first night. The Maitre D told us no on else could go there on the first night. So no worries. You will get your elegant meal with no competition. We are doing the same thing in April on the Royal, and I am relaxed about it all.

I had little tags secured by a safety pin in my laundry.

So nice to have a fresh outfit for Disembarkation, I was meeting friends for lunch, 1 came to Station Pier to collect me, and we had an unexpected change of venue due to the other friend having to attend a funeral earlier that day.

Yes it is. Be aware you can not bring guests to club class dining, not even one time. We were just on the Emerald in December and January on a 31 day B to B cruise and enjoyed the Club Class dining, never any wait and great service. And if you in a Suite the breakfast in the crown grill was always fantastic!

Nice to hear. Glad you had a great time on Emerald. Club Class is awesome; and so are the suites(y)

We were on the Emerald for 31 days in December and January in a Penthouse Suite R-417 the new beds are great but the couch was worn out table in room is to small and the TV system is not interactive and the TV’s are small our room steward was good and helpful we found the food sub par especially the dinners, we did enjoy the club class service and instant seating and breakfast in the Crown Grill was the best meal of the day! The Emerald is I bad need of updating its Suites. With better TV’s and interactive programming. Larger tables and new couches.

What is the earliest we'd be allowed to board? We need to be out of the hotel at 11am' date=' and my inclination is to just go over to the port at that time (Port Everglades, if it matters).[/quote']

We just head over to the port. Sit at hotel or sit at port. :D

On the Royal and the Regal, you can have the concierge call to make reservations for you. That's what we did in December. I'm not sure if he has a special line to call, but he wasn't on hold like we were when we tried earlier in the afternoon (before giving up).

Since you are in a suite you just show up at port; once you get thru security and head up to check in there is a special line for suite guests. Once you get sea card you will be escorted to the elite area; where someone from the ship will allow you to board early. My wife and I did this last year. We had never sailed Princess so this was our first time. The gentleman who checked us in at the suite desk handed us our sea cards and said turn around 180 degrees and there is the elite lounge/waiting area. We walked over there and people from the ship were serving coffee/donuts. We were the only ones there; so this young lady said hey come on and lets get you guys on the ship. We were the first to board; it took maybe 20 minutes from security to boarding the ship. It was awesome

Another dumb question (you guys will be so happy to see me get on the ship and off the boards!) Is the fresh OJ included in the suite breakfast at Sabatinis? Just a dumb thought after reading another thread. And if so, is there a charge for it as there is in the Horizon Court?

Yes, for suite breakfasts, there is fresh OJ. And no, there is no charge for it. You can make that fresh OJ into a free mimosa!

When we would go to crown grill for breakfast every morning we rarely had more than six people in there. I guess most people have room service or go to horizon court

Wow.....I sort of plan on it almost every day, whether the sleepy head in my cabin goes or not. Oh wait, I did hear something mentioned from that department about a "mimosa, hold the OJ." That might be enough to warrant getting out of bed.

If I can be teased about "free laundry," they can endure some teasing about their favorite perks.

When you sit down for breakfast they ask if you want coffee or tea. Then they bring a fresh tray of baked pastries, then they bring a menu as you have pastries and coffee.

There are not very many suites so less passengers for breakfast at the specialty restaurants. Also, breakfast in the specialty restaurants is from about 7:30 to about 9:30 so not everyone is there at the same time.

I have also had very good service in a suite. If my steward could do it, he did and then some. I am hoping for the same in a few weeks! I thought only Royal Class had concierge service?

Momaboss, I noticed on an older thread that you had sailed in R405 on the Crown. Can you tell me whether noise from the Lido above was an issue? We just took an upsell offer, and I'm reading mixed reports.

Sorry for butting in on the thread, but this seemed like the best way to ask.
