die_hard Posted February 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2018 Some people have reported trying to book Allure for Feb 18th sailing, but reservations being closed. When they called RC, they a ‘code red’ was going. Not sure what is. Any ideas? Sent from my iPad using Forums
papaflamingo Posted February 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2018 I believe a "code red" is a Norovirus outbreak.

Hope it does not get cancelled this close in.
OCruisers Posted February 13, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2018 Confused as well. For us Code Red was when there was a Noro Virus issue and extra hygiene measures were taken.
regg1216 Posted February 13, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2018 My experience has been code red turns into a charter cruise.
Clarea Posted February 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2018 My experience has been code red turns into a charter cruise. Mine too, but I cannot imagine being notified of a charter less than a week before my cruise.
die_hard Posted February 13, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted February 13, 2018 Mine too, but I cannot imagine being notified of a charter less than a week before my cruise. Makes me wonder too. I booked this past Saturday with no issues. I booked a guarantee but have not been assigned a room yet. Others tried to book later in the day Saturday and couldn’t, with an explanation of this ‘code red’. Curious what’s going on. Charter of Full, don't sell anymore. Booking a Guarantee you can get room assignment right away, later, or even at port when boarding...
MrsBBuffalo Posted February 13, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 13, 2018 I know the ship is chartered THIS week, but no idea about next week. Unless there has been an outbreak and our ship will have to undergo deep cleaning before we can board?
Ken at the beach Posted February 13, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 13, 2018 In addition to a charter a Code Red is also used when they are overbooked or have guarantees to assign to get a final tally on available staterooms.

Rare little britain Posted February 1, 2019 #16 Share Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) Code Red means that the sailing is closed to any new bookings. It can be closed for a variety of reasons, such as a major itinerary change, the cruise is being cancelled or the cruise is being chartered. It can also be code red if they are doing a major pricing review. Simply it just stops new people booking.
