cruisegirl1 Posted March 1, 2018 #26 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Had dinner with a Beverage exec from Corporate. He said they discourage the practice. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app Take a look at MM's photo. It clearly states the 10 drink card can be shared. Why would a printed card benefit be discouraged? Sharing is the selling point for us. M
mark290 Posted March 1, 2018 #27 Share Posted March 1, 2018 I see (according to your signature) that you haven't been on a Royal Caribbean cruise in 24 years. If you have one on the books now, welcome back. I also see that you cruise NCL a lot. Their beverage package is $89 a day plus 20% gratuity. :o Most people on NCL only pay the 20% gratuity and get the package "free."
George C Posted March 1, 2018 #28 Share Posted March 1, 2018 What is a floater? Floater is when you order drink like a pina colafa, they add a exra shot of rum on top of the drink
Jarmo Posted March 1, 2018 #29 Share Posted March 1, 2018 No, sorry, I didn't keep a link. I've only seen it reported a couple of times, and it was significantly less expensive than the regular drink card. 10 drafts for $49 on Indy back in December. CanadaRob Posted March 1, 2018 #30 Share Posted March 1, 2018 This is probably just a strategic plan to go after the people that drink less than 3 drinks a day and try to entice them to spend $79.00 on drinks toward the end of their cruise. Most people that drink more than that will already have the package. We probably won't be seeing drink cards available for the entire cruise. My wife and I share a card on every cruise. We will have maybe a drink a day and it fits right into our wheel house for her wine(more than $8.00) and my Pedro Collins at the Schooner(also more than $8.0) If i was a beer drinker it wouldn't be worth it but the beer card..... Clarea Posted March 1, 2018 #31 Share Posted March 1, 2018 10 drafts for $49 on Indy back in December. Draft only, no bottles? There have been several times when I've tried to get a draft beer at the pub and they tell me they are all out.
Mikew0805 Posted March 1, 2018 #32 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Most people on NCL only pay the 20% gratuity and get the package "free." Well not sure it is most, however those same people cannot pay for the lowest price cabin in each category, so they are actually paying for the upgrade (which is no upgrade at all, and can be hundreds of dollars) and the gratuity... for the privilege of "included drinks"

wolfganghowell Posted March 1, 2018 #34 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Hi "Mom" - will you post some current Liberty intel when you get back? I realize some of it will change before we sail 4/29 but interested in what entertainment and crew are on? I know Jorge will be back in the SL at the end of March. vettecruiser1 Posted March 1, 2018 #35 Share Posted March 1, 2018 So this was on the bed after your stop in Roatan. The card in the past was usually offered the night of Belize or Costa Maya which ever the route is. If it is offered after Roatan that would be a nice deal. I could just stay on the ship and enjoy instead heading into town on Port day #2. We will be on in 2 weeks. Hope Carlton is still in Diamond lounge he is one of the better ones. kelleigh229 Posted March 1, 2018 #36 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Never seen it but $7.90 per drink isn't what I call a bargain. Sent from my SM-G935V using Forums mobile app It is if you drink top shelf liquor

Jarmo Posted March 1, 2018 #38 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Draft only, no bottles? There have been several times when I've tried to get a draft beer at the pub and they tell me they are all out. Just speaking to what the card/flyer said. My guess is most bartenders would give you a bottle, especially if they are out of draft. I was actually surprised on my recent Vision sailing, they had Heineken and Strongbow on tap at Schooner the entire cruise. Did not see a beer card offered though. The bartenders were pushing the 10 drink card ($85) pretty hard. Doing some quick research it looks like they only sell the cards at bars where they serve drafts. What they do if they run out, who knows.

mom2tcdx2 Posted March 1, 2018 #43 Share Posted March 1, 2018 So is this card something that is generally offered with only 3-4 days left in the sailing? Not something you can purchase when boarding? I kind of like the idea over buying the package. Also can you purchase more than one card if they are offered earlier in the sailing? I would tend to order the drinks that are in the $12 range, which still may make the package a better alternative.

Correct, it's not generally available when boarding, however I've seen recent reports of it being offered much earlier in the cruise. I've not seen any limits on how many cards you can purchase. vettecruiser1 Posted March 1, 2018 #45 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Carlington. [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Forums Sorry yes Carlington. By night 2 he usually saw me and the wife walk in and would just go make us a drink if we did not stop by the bar or if there was a little line. He is so much better the Carlos. wolfganghowell Posted March 1, 2018 #47 Share Posted March 1, 2018 I've never seen the drink card on Liberty offered until Day 5. We plan on getting it since we have 2 sea days at the end. Those are the days we usually pinacolada/mudslide/bushwhacker ourselves at the pool bar. Perfect timing.
