OK, so we got the email, and responded to a recorded message almost immediately as I was in my email program and got the pop-up

Waiting for a callback..... will we get a call back even if it's to just tell us , sorry but no?

5 day booked- to a 7 day 'potential' only a week later and scheduling is no problem

what all will we have to pay 'extra' for the 2 "Free" days?

2 more days or PBP?, vacation protection, port fees, grats?

Is everything negotiable if we get the call?

ANY information is really appreciated !!

SUPER STOKKED !!

In my experience, all the perks that you have and everything you booked thru Princess will "roll over,"

If you have complimentary grats and beverage package on your 5 day, you will have it on the 7 day. Your vacation protection plan will roll over at no additional charge. IF you have princess air, you'll get flights for your new cruise; if the new flights are cheaper, you'll get a check back, if they are more, you won't pay the difference.

So, what you will pay for the new cruise is essentially nothing. Excursions, of course. And of course, anything you have pre-purchased on the 5 night will be refunded to you (specialty dining, excursions, sanctuary, etc.) You just lucked out--you'll get a full refund on the 5 night for the cruise fare (not for the air or insurance), and you'll get the 7 night at no charge, sometimes with a cabin upgrade.

Port fees--will roll over. If higher on the new cruise, Princess will pay the difference.

If you bought the beverage package, you'll have to pay for the extra two days...unless they offer it as part of the move over. But if it was a perk, you'll get it as a longer perk. Hope I explained this well. Same for gratuities--if a perk, the perk gets bigger. If paid, you'll have to pay for the additional two days. BUT you have a ton of OBC to use for it. And ALL of our OBC became refundable (even stuff like shareholder credit).

What is negotiable depends on how many cabins they need (essentially, how desperate they are). Ask for whatever you want; the worst they can do is say "no," and that won't take away the initial offer. Obviously, cabin category is dependent on what is available, etc. If you want to go from a standard balcony to an extended balcony, there has to be an extended available. All we negotiated was cabin; I should have known that I could have asked for more!

My guess is P is offering you a 7 day cruise for the price of a 5 day. You pay the gratuities and any extras (shore excursions, drinks, specialty dining, etc). Many move over offers offer the cruise fares as refundable OBC. Did your original booking have free gratuities or OBC as perks? Did you buy cruise insurance from P? Those would be protected.

Lately, it seems they are not willing to negotiate on upsells at all but move-over offers, you have a chance to negotiate but don't ask for the world. If you don't hear from them within 2 days at the most, then you can figure that they've found enough people to move over. I don't think that will happen since you got on it right away.

Congrats on getting the offer. Let us know how it goes for you.

While you are waiting for the call back, go to the Princess web site and see what cabins are available in the category you booked and above. That way, if there are locations you particularly do not want (or those that you do), you'll know what to request or counter with....

And no, I don't suggest asking for the world. See exactly what is offered. But if a particular cabin or location is your favorite, it doesn't hurt to ask. On ours, I wanted the same room we had booked for what would be the other leg of a B2B, so I asked for it.

keep the same type cabin category - IC

Got full fare as refundable OBC on the new cruise ( wish I had paid more now  )

Grats were comped on the 5 day and now on the 7 day.

Vaca protection, Port taxes moved over with no increase.

Just realize that if you had paid more for a "better" category of cabin you may well have never received the move over offer. Congratulations!!!!! We always hope for a move over but it's kind of like winning the lottery - long odds.

We fly out on the 14th and sail on the 18th. Return air was booked with "miles" so can be cancelled and re-booked with no loss. Air from CA to FL was paid for but under $500 for the two of us. It would be well worth it to us to accept a move over and eat the cost of that flight.

I love that about Princess. Everything is positive, and upbeat. "No" is not in their vocabulary. "Is the bow that way? Yes, the bow is that way, as they point in the opposite direction you pointed. ;)

If you were getting casino money take a screen shot of that. We would have lost our freeplay casino money on a moreover except for the screen shot that we had of the original booking.

I had some free play on the cruise that we cancelled when we accepted a moveover offer last month. I wrote to the Ocean Players Club and asked if they would move it to the new cruise and they said no problem, just send us the new booking number and we'll take care of it. Will take along those emails when we board the new cruise just to make sure but they were very accommodating.
