Yes, it is a crazy amount to pay for a 20 minute flight! But I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with a long Uber ride with a stranger! Still lots of time and options to consider. :)

FYI, we live in the IE and when we fly, we fly out of LAX and usually take the 91, 90 min. drive, and park at the Airport Hilton, usually $8-9/day, we've done one way car rental also to LAX and San Pedro Pier.

While meeting up with another cc member from the IE, they gave me the name of a limo opperation with decent pricing. Need this for next fall going to and from the port in San Pedro for a long cruise.

Currently being peeved with Princess. I looked at Connoisseur cruise tours to Alaska and this year tour SB8 goes to Denali Lodge, Kenai Lodge, and Copper River Lodge. Next year the same tour -SB8 - goes to Denali Lodge, McKinley Lodge, and Kenai Lodge. Poop!!! We want the one that's like this year that hits both Kenai and Copper River but it seems there are none being offered next year. What the heck? Kenai and Copper River are lodges we have yet to stay at - although we did visit Copper River Lodge last year when we were on a 7 week camping trip. It was a rainy day and we took a trip to the lodge, had Irish Coffee, had lunch, then had a second Irish Coffee while sitting near the fire in the main room and reading for a couple of hours. Wonderful interlude on our trip but we really want to actually stay there. It's looking like we may have to do it in 2 different trips which, of course, adds a fair amount of cost and time that could be used for another cruise - not to mention that the cruisetour only counts for the 7 actual sea days as opposed to the 8 days on land plus the 7 days at sea.

We will never be able to cruise in a suite such as is shown in the video but did enjoy watching. Holy Cow! Thanks for the video.

You’re very welcome. I don’t know if it will have been a one off for us, as our budget is typically balcony or mini suite. This was a big blowout celebratory trip.

On the other note, I do not understand why you’re angry at Princess; I may have misunderstood your paragraph, it seems to me they have simply switched one of their tours?

Cheers,

Bob

I'm not "angry" - merely "peeved". We want to visit both Kenai and Copper River and it's possible to do this year in a single Connoisseur Cruisetour this year (when it's not feasible for us to do) but not next year when we could go. I'm sure they must have some reason for not offering the trip next year but it is unfortunate for us. Perhaps we will go and just do Kenai or perhaps wait until 2020 and see if the cruisetour is restored.

On sale 19 April... better buy some FCC on the Caribbean Princess after our stop in St Kitts today. Get ready :D

I asked a Princess Cruise Planner today about the Americas cruise schedule that you say is being released April 19. She tells me there is no set release date for the Americas just Australia and New Zealand is being released on April 19.

I’m anxious to see the Americas so I wonder who’s correct? Geoffa or Princess Cruise Planner?

Hi. I cannot confirm that all areas are on sale. Saw a tweet from the VP of Princess UK which mentioned 19 April specifically for Oz/NZ but I assumed all winter areas would be on sale. I’m sure Asia was released at the same time as Oz/NZ last year.

Okay so you didn’t have any specific information on the Americas. It makes me think that the Princess Cruise Planner is giving me the correct information since nobody can find a copy of the cruises to share here on Cruise Critic. Thanks.

Am I to understand from the topic of this thread; that all Princess cruises for 19/20 go on sale 19 Apr?

No it would appear that only Australia/New Zealand are going on sale April 19 for 19/20 sailing dates. The Amerericas which is the Caribbean does not yet have a release date.

I hope the Cruise Planner with Princess that I spoke to is in correct but I always book with a TA that does high volume Princess bookings and she has not heard or seen anything on the release of the Americas. This as me questioning the release date but I will still check on April 19.

Does anyone know how it now works for elite passenger who can book one day before release date? Do you get this early release from your TA or can you just log into Princess under your own number and the new releases are there for you to see if you are elite?

Log into Princess with your personal password. That is what I did the last time Princess made a new schedule available a day early for Elite members.
