We lucked out with nice weather as the day wore on and there was the Sea Port Festival happening.

But first we needed a light bite.

Look at the restaurant we found at the pier..

And, our next day was Fowey.

Another enchanting spot and I do mean enchanting.

Here is our When and Where from there.

It was a tender port but you can't get much closer than this.

You could have nearly swum but swimming is forbidden in Fowey port as it is so busy.

This church is in the Guiness Book of World Records. Why? Because it’s……

The closest church next to a pub.

Restaurants in Guernsey are really good. They have to be our guide Jason said or they don’t survive.

There are no chains in Guernsey other than Costa Coffee. They simply don’t survive.

While Guernsey is part of the Commonwealth and it’s population is British, they have their own legislature. They are under the protection of the Commonwealt but they are completely independent. (They used to be part of Normandy, then Britain, then Normandy and back and forth and finally got independent).

As a result, they are VAT free.

I think a couple of our “shoppers” will be browsing later. LOL.

Hello Jacqui,

Not trying to contradict you BUT I believe the guide may have lied to either you or the Guiness people ;p;p I can see a space between the church and the bar. Check out this one from Sorrento, Italy. Just saying ... ;)

A big hello to Jose, Georgina and Gerry :D

Hi Louis :)

there is a gargoyle - it might not show in the pic, but it nearly touches the liquor store/pub. That's why it is the closest according to our guide.

I think your bar in Sorrento is further apart as it is a separate entity?

No biggie, it's all interesting. I'll check the Guiness book of records when I get home and have free wifi. LOL
