Beware of FCC

We had a cruise booked on Symphony OTS and had to cancel and tried to rebook using the FCC. However, it was a Non-Refundable booking so we lost $100 each (paperwork cost.)

 

Our friend just lost her husband and tried to transfer his FCC to her name. No such luck.

Will never buy another FCC from RCI.

Unfortunate, but those are the terms of of the non-refundable bookings. Note also that the FCC expires one year after the cancellation.

And unless you booked a suite you can have picked the refundable fare and you would have gotten all your money back as long as you cancelled before final payment date

Just like any other program offered by any cruise line it doesn't work for everyone and it's essential that one understands fully the terms and conditions.

The FCC is only good for one year after the original cruise is cancelled. So if you don't take another cruise with that FCC within one year from when the original crusie was cancelled, you can no longer use that FCC.

Unfortunately it would be both.

 

The FCC is valid only for the person named on the FCC. If the person named on the FCC did pass I would try calling C&A to see if they could change the name to your new travelling companions name.

I would escalate. Try mbayley@rccl.com. His office is pretty good.

 

I would still expect that the original expiry dates to remain unchanged and valid only if going on the same sailing as the original travelling companion.

Future Cruise Credit. You get it if you book a non-refundable deposit, and then cancel before final payment. They give you your deposit as FCC (minus $100).

These initials confuse. I logged onto this thread because I thought it was a new disease, like norovirus, that I should beware of!
