dorito6778 Posted August 6, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2018 havent been there in 6 years and i know they've done a lot since then (built up other areas, etc.) i posted earlier about cabanas and i'm trying to figure out if its something we should seriously consider. setsail Posted August 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Guess it would depend how many get off the ship and for a future cruise there is no way to know that. Plenty of room for everybody. You will have to rent a cabana to find out if it's right for you.
Clarea Posted August 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2018 We've found Columbus Cove not bad at all.
taglovestocruise Posted August 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Have been there several times and never overly crowded. A few thousand get off the smaller ships, your cruise on Harmony could put over 5000 onto the beaches.
Rare island lady Posted August 6, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Smaller ship...smaller crowds...larger ship......
cb at sea Posted August 6, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Not everyone will be on the beach....some will stay on the ship, some will get off and walk around and perhaps be "inland" a bit, where there's seats and shade/food/drink.
karena1 Posted August 6, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 6, 2018 We always go to Nellie's beach, our favorite place. the beach by the zip line is very, very rocky. Nellie's is not rocky, easy to get in/out of the water. We don't go to Columbus, but I know some people like it down there also.
sjb317 Posted August 6, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 6, 2018 We've found Columbus Cove not bad at all. It was very crowded on our Oasis cruise in February. Took awhile to find two chairs. Sherri:)
JaniceB Posted August 6, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 6, 2018 What time is a good time to get off ship to find chairs?

Merly Posted August 6, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 6, 2018 If it’s one of the big ships 🚢 it’s crowded.
karena1 Posted August 6, 2018 #13 Share Posted August 6, 2018 As early as possible. Totally agree. We get off the minute they let us off the ship. We have our favorite place at Nellie's that we like so get there early to insure we get it!
bean24 Posted August 6, 2018 #14 Share Posted August 6, 2018 We were on the Anthem and went to Columbus Cove. It wasn’t too bad. We were a big group and were able to wind up together. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
NewSalt Posted August 6, 2018 #15 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Last month we were at Labadee for the fourth time, and Columbus Cove was the most crowded I've ever seen it. We headed out right after breakfast and had difficulty getting a spot in the shade, which has never been a problem before. Granted, we were on the Anthem, which is a big ship, but two previous stops were also on the same ship.
Baron Barracuda Posted August 6, 2018 #16 Share Posted August 6, 2018 Was there last week on Anthem, over 5,000 passengers. Nellie's didn't fill up until 11am. Later there were still large empty areas under the trees away from beach. On prior Anthem cruise two June's back Freedom class ship (Indy?) was in port with us at Labadee. That's over 8,000 passengers. Beaches didn't feel overly crowded then either.
Rala Posted August 7, 2018 #17 Share Posted August 7, 2018 We usually go to Columbus Cove and it has never been really crowded. I would try to get there relatively early to find a spot in the shade. There is a lunch buffet station right there also and a tram which will take you almost all the way to and from the ship. The water is calm and there is usually music by local musicians. A very pleasant beach day! :D
thetwoofus1 Posted August 8, 2018 #18 Share Posted August 8, 2018 We were on Harmony in July with approximately 6700 passengers. For our family of six, the bungalow on Columbus Cove worked out really nice. It was a hot, hot day and Labadee was packed, especially the Columbus Cove area and the Columbus Cove beach. With six people, the private swim area, and the attendant I think it was well worth the price. We had a secure place to leave our stuff when some of us did an excursion, walked around or went to lunch. The attendant also gave us a nice heads up when lunch was almost ready, so we beat the crowd. Not sure if it would be worth it for 2-4 people. The attendant was great keeping us in Labadoozies!! Rare momofmab Posted August 8, 2018 #19 Share Posted August 8, 2018 Very crowded with the big ships. Columbus Cove was lounge chair to lounge chair with barely any room to walk in between. Get off early.
