Today we went to Krka National Park. Another beautiful spot here in Croatia.

It was about an hour's drive from Split. Due to the season and the heavy rains we'd had these past two days, the river was really flowing.

The falls were going strong! We started at the upper falls.

Then we took the long way down. A long winding boardwalk through the woods.

But the river was going so vigorously that it was flowing all through the forest!

Falls everywhere!

The river almost inundated the boardwalk.

Finally the main attraction.

We could climb up to one side for a closer view. The power was incredible. It was almost overflowing its banks.

Chris was very happy. And it was not crowded at all. We only saw a few other groups.

We took a boat ride to the other end of the park. We and our guide were the only three people on the boat! Nice sail through a gorge of limestone karst. Lots of caves in the walls.

It was chilly, in the high 40s with some breeze. But nice sunshine. Just a gorgeous day.

We were done early so we had time for a coffee, then we went to lunch at a local winery. That was pretty incredible as well.

Great additional visuals and details from J.P. and Chris.  Keep it coming!!!  Nice water action and sunshine.  Always love hearing more about the food there.

Dubrovnik, yesterday. In brilliant sunshine with few crowds. Come now. It will be a mosh pit shortly.

Old Harbor. Fort St. John. From the bridge.

In the Franciscan monastery. Rumor has it that this face with a swollen cheek is a selfie of the sculptor, who had a ferocious toothache at the time.

It's empty! Amazing.

The bell tower, from the cloisters.

Next we climbed the city walls. The price is insane! 250 Croatian crowns. About $36 or €33. Per person! Good thing they were included in our tour.

The views are spectacular. And again, not crowded. This is the main street in the Old Town.

Fort St. Lorenzo. The city walls ticket is also good here.

A popular spot to take this shot. In April this took mere seconds. I can't imagine trying this in July.

No line at this panoramic viewpoint either.

Lokrum Island. And blue sky.

The Old Harbor, from near Fort St. John.

Now off to the market for a small bite. Or a big plate of oysters.

And a huge bowl of mussels! Not quite as fresh as yesterday's but still delicious.

Banje Beach, on the way back to the hotel.

After a brief rest we went back for Fort St. Lorenzo. Nice views back to the Old Town.

And Lokrum Island.

Oh my jp. I remember doing this about 10 years ago and at that point the price was much cheaper but we had to pay in Kuna. Thankfully we got some from an ATM and used the rest we got out to buy lunch. We did do it in July and the crowds weren't too bad. However in 2019 when we stopped in Dubrovnik in July just a short walk in the town was very difficult with the crowds.

That time in 2019 we did a rare ship tour on Seabourn because it was the only way without hiring a car to get to Mali Ston and have their oysters. It was actually a great tour.

We have had some uplifting photos today - I include all the dogs, and jp's gorgeous photos from a peaceful and quiet Dubrovnik.

Something else I have enjoyed this morning is a picture of three identical boy triplets, aged about one, in the Times.  They look so healthy, beautiful,  and happy - may the world they grow up in be better than it is now.

Super appreciate your wonderful visuals and details from Dubrovnik.  From 2011, we had an excellent day when there exploring.  Crowds??!!  Yes that can be a major challenge.  Glad you had excellent sunshine and few mobs of other people there.  Loved the food sampling shown.  Keep up the great sharing.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Dubrovnik!  Nice visual samples, tips, details, etc., for this super scenic and historic location. Over 48,570 views.

Works with labradors, too

YES, love labradors!!  Wonderful creatures.  This is our Rudy and Roxie.  Unfortunately, both have passed on.  Both were English labs.  Very smart with wonderful, unique personalities.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio
