Clarea Posted August 25, 2018 #26 Share Posted August 25, 2018 Can you re-use a wow band from a previous cruise? (Harmony then and upcoming) Yes, Guest Services can re-program the WOW band.
dacsmom Posted August 25, 2018 #27 Share Posted August 25, 2018 I love the WOW bands. It is really convenient getting into your stateroom.

Merion_Mom Posted August 25, 2018 #29 Share Posted August 25, 2018 Are wow bands on Oasis? Sent from my SM-N950U using Forums mobile app NO. Only ships from the Quantum onward. Oasis came out 5 years before Quantum. As of this moment, the only ships that use WOW bands are: Quantum, Anthem, Ovation, Harmony & Symphony. Merion_Mom Posted August 25, 2018 #31 Share Posted August 25, 2018 I love my wow band. It's "hands-free" access to your cabin, among other things. Just a slight turn of your wrist and you just open your door. No fumbling, no inserting, no dropping...……………..just easy peasy. :)
BekkaW Posted August 25, 2018 #32 Share Posted August 25, 2018 Yes, Guest Services can re-program the WOW band. I have heard this a few times, but our band from Ovation had our Muster Station printed on the actual band. Reprogramming the chip wouldn’t get past that - do you think they will swap them out for new bands for us on Symphony?
lenquixote66 Posted August 25, 2018 #33 Share Posted August 25, 2018 Questions regarding WOW bands (on Harmony OTS if that matters): 1) If you have a WOW band, are there any circumstances (other than getting off/on the ship), where you would ALSO need to present your actual card? 2) For people who have put their cruise card on a lanyard, do you prefer lanyard or WOW band, and why? Thanks for any insights and opinions! :) I have no interest in WOW
Meatonabun Posted August 25, 2018 #34 Share Posted August 25, 2018 I enjoyed the wow bands during the day. Towel take/return, drinks and room entry made easy. No worries in the pool. Wallet stayed in the room. Freedom for me. For the tan line thing, I did change wrists everyday. For $5 it is worth trying in my opinion. My wife did not use her band at all. Kathie13 Posted August 25, 2018 #35 Share Posted August 25, 2018 I have a walking issue and need to use a scooter on board. I found getting in and out of cabin so much easier with the wow band. Sent from my iPad using Forums
fishbonz Posted August 25, 2018 #36 Share Posted August 25, 2018 Yes, Guest Services can re-program the WOW band. Unless things are different from ship to ship I was told on our last Anthem cruise they will not reprogram the one I had and will have to buy anew one. BUT I found the very convenient not having to pull your card out every time.

TYSONBOXER Posted August 25, 2018 #38 Share Posted August 25, 2018 I had the WOW bands on my Anthem cruise in August and loved them. You can use them in casino on table games and slot machines. Getting drinks and st guess services. I brought coffee and muffins back to cabin in morning for my wife and opening door was a breeze, rather then getting card out. You just can’t use them for getting off and on ship, must have sea pass card & ID. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rare mcatmcat Posted August 25, 2018 #41 Share Posted August 25, 2018 wow bands are not for us even if they were free - yes tanning lines you gonna look so funny with a white wrist - on port days you wont even use them because you are most for the time in land - on sea days I put it my pocket and I haven't lost a single sea pass in my life -at night, I carry my girlfriend's card since she has a dress - btw you gonna look ugly on a nice dress wearing the wow band - drunk package + wow bands= no no ( inconvenience ) "For people who have put their cruise card on a lanyard" I wont even go there :-) some people look so funny walking arounf the ship with the landyard
elhenry Posted August 26, 2018 #42 Share Posted August 26, 2018 I am a convert to WOW bands, and I didn’t even know what they were. But we were in a suite on the Anthem and there they were, so I thought “what the heck”. Turns out not having to take the seapass everywhere (except to get off the ship) is a great idea. No fishing around for the seapass. If you’re a woman (and I am) no wondering if your shorts or pants have pockets or pockets deep enough for a seapass. Pool friendly (I still remember the time 20 years ago when my father took a flying leap into a pool with his seapass. Luckily a nice young man went diving to look for it). I could give a rat’s patootie about tan lines or outfits, so there is that.:p One thing I would note is that I have very small wrists and even the tightest grip was a little loose. Would I pay for it? Don’t know. But at least now I would not dismiss the thought out of hand:D
GottaRequalify Posted August 26, 2018 #43 Share Posted August 26, 2018 On the Ovation, in our suite they were waiting for us along with our hole punched sea cards. Used them the first day then never used the wow bands again. We had 4 of the same colour, had to be stored in different locations to not mix them up. In Windjammers, when the drinks person came around asking what we wanted, we had to give up our sea pass / WOW band so they could go away and ring up the drinks order - 4 drinks (even soft drinks) 4 bands or cards required, so you needed to take them off, then when they came back - whose band was whose? Important when the kids were only on the refreshment package, if you got the wrong band back - no adult beverages? Same at dinner, for first drink they needed the card / band, so you had to take it off your wrist anyway. If ordering drinks at a bar, unless you were in a location at the bar next to the register, you had to take it off your wrist. Pretty much any time you needed to buy something, you needed it off your wrist, so rather than wearing your sea pass around your neck, it was on your wrist. Just a different location to store your pass. My lanyard had a quick release section at the bottom, so I didn't need to take it off my neck, just released it and away it went with a couple of inches of material attached. Made it easier / quicker when it came back to identify whose card was whose, because you just looked for the lanyard to match the person. The cards came pre-punched so it is possible for the RFID cards to get this done. It meant that the lanyard didn't need a clear pocket, as the card could clip straight to it. On formal nights I did end up with 3-4 lanyards in my pockets rather than the others wearing theirs, but as it didn't match the dress anyway, I doubt if they would have worn a WOW band with the dress.. You also needed the card to get some of the star class benefits, such as front of line at the dodgem cars, free snacks at the café, free ice cream etc. As they never swiped the cards, just looked at them. Also needed the card for the reserved sections for the shows. Had the bands - didn't use them as the lanyards were much easier to use, than taking the bands on and off your wrist.
