So I click and it says my current room is a Crown Loft Suite.....

Have you checked your Cruise Planner to see what cabin you're in?...  and to see if there is an outstanding balance?  Also check your CC to see if they charged you.

If you're indeed now in a Crown Loft, and there is no balance due and no charge to your CC, I would say you scored the ultimate upgrade....  free....

My cruise planner has my correct Boardwalk Room and there is no money due, which is all good.  The only time it said I was in a crown loft was when the Casino Royal lady accidentally made the change.

On my upcoming cruise,  I have 4 bids,   if I won one of them does the rest expired or cancelled?

What I'm trying to say is for example let say I win the bid for an ocean view room,  got charged for the bid,  then few days before the cruise I may win the other bid for a balcony room and they charge me again for the balcony ?     Just curious.

Thanks

@cyntCongrats on your win! Once you are awarded into a new category can you really change your room to another available in same category? I wouldn't have expected that but let us know what you find.

I did that successfully on a recent cruise.  I am booked under US rules; booking rules do vary by county, so YMMV if you booked under other rules.  Also, obviously there must be an available desirable cabin in the exact same category to swap; as occupancy levels rise, fewer cabins are likely available to swap, especially if one gets their RoyalUp assignment at the last minute.  Still, it is worth a look.

If you win one, the other bids expire.

If you win one bid, do not expect a second shot at bidding (we have not had recent reports of that happening).

For me, there is a bit of strategy when bidding.  If I am in an inside cabin and would be happy just to have natural light, I’d bid on the OV as well as the balcony.  If on the other hand, I really want the balcony and do really not care much about certain OV upgrades, I might bid strong on that balcony and not bid at all on the OV (because they may take my OV bid and move the OV person into the balcony).

So here is a funny situation that I want to get changed but not sure if I can.  So this past weekend I called the casino to see what it would be to upgrade my free Boardwalk Balcony on Symphony to a Crown Loft...lady puts me on hold, comes back and says ok I moved you to the Crown Loft Suite....how do you want to pay the difference.  I said I am sorry you misunderstood, I didn't want to switch, I wanted to get a price on upgrading.  Long story short she got me switched back and gave me a quote.

2 days later I receive an email stating that my bids for Royal Up have been canceled, but I can make more bids.  So I click and it says my current room is a Crown Loft Suite and I can bid on all of these huge suites...so what the heck I did because Max bid at this point on 2 bedroom Aquatheater is 1,600 and 1 bedroom is $1,500 max..All the bids were super cheap...but I just want a crown loft suite, and they are available for our sailing..

SO anyone have this happen, and who can I call to get my room corrected so I can bid on Crown Loft Suite??

When is your cruise?

I don’t think they provide a phone number for PlusGrade.  An email address can be found, though people have complained here they did not get responses.  Still, you could dig up that addy, send an email and keep your expectations of a reply low.

The only other suggestion is tincture of time (hopefully you have some time before your cruise).  Just as it took a couple days for plusgrade to detect to erroneous upgrade, in 2-4 working days perhaps they will detect your corrected cabin category. Maybe.  Hopefully.  Then you can re-enter your old bids.  If not, a free Boardwalk balcony on Symphony sounds like a grand time.  I hope it works out, but have fun either way.

Today I just received the update that my bids were cancelled (the one that said I was in a Crown Loft)....so now I was able to bid on a crown loft now (which I did)....much better.

But again, doesn't matter if we get the Royal Up, it would be nice, but we are totally happy with the room we have on the boardwalk

WAAHOO!!  I won my bid to upgrade. Text alert from CC company 9:36AM; email from Royal with new invoice with new stateroom number at 9:38AM; 2nd email from Royal Your RoyalUp bid has been accepted at  9:39AM.

I just did a mock booking. I saved $877. I'm quite pleased.

It's a connecting cabin and there are several non connecting cabins available. I'm thinking about calling and having my cabin switched.

HAPPY TUESDAY TO ME!!! I'm so excited!!!

As soon as we won our RU from JS to GS for last Aug sailing and saw that it was connecting, we immediately called our RCCL vacation planner and she was able to switch us to a non-connecting GS.

Yes, always ask for more folks. Never be happy with what you won. Call in "immediately!"

Oh, try to be nice, Fred.  There is nothing wrong with a politely calling and asking to swap cabins.  If a desirable cabin is available, then one should do make the call quickly as availability can change.

The desirability of a cabin is in the eye of a cruiser.  What appeals to one might not appeal to another.  For example, one person’s top priority might be a specific deck, another person wants a different deck, a third person does not want a connecting cabin, and so forth.  Perhaps after some swaps more people will like their cabins.

Yes indeed!  If inventory is available in the same category, you may be able to change your stateroom...  As I mentioned above, when we won our RU from JS to GS for last Aug sailing and saw that it was connecting, we immediately called our RCCL vacation planner and she was able to switch us to a non-connecting GS.

Just got our first bid up for our August Alaska cruise.  I’m sure it has been discussed in the last 311 pages but can someone give me a quick How To?  Are the dollar amounts they have for each category the minimum bid or is that the total bid?

Thanks

Well - cruise is tomorrow - all bids still say pending (not expired). Doesn't look like we're getting that upgrade this time.

It has been reported that some folks have received their notice of acceptance after boarding the ship. One I remember said they were unpacking in the old cabin when notified via email.

Enjoy your cruise!  You probably originally picked out a cabin that you liked so have fun!

We won a Royal Up bid 😊

Placed a minimum bid $25 per person and went from a spacious ocean view to a balcony. Happy with the location of the new stateroom. We sail this coming Monday and got notified this past Saturday.

Might want to also ask this of cruisers on your sailing (via the Roll Call thread or FB).

that was my next best bet lol. No roll call on the boards though. May need to ask on FB....

I just got the Congratulations email, got our Royal Up for our July 16 Symphony cruise. Bid $100 over minimum and went from a guaranteed JS to a Crown Loft Suite.

Super !

What was the minimum bid (and was that total, or pp)?
