Is it safe to say that with about 9 days to go, my offer is toast?  Not sure how long they typically wait to tell you one way or another, but I assume that this late in the game, on a sold out ship, the upgrades are gone by now.

I *think* we’re on the same sailing. What did you bid on and from? We got our success notification for our JS from OV last week (Wednesday, I think).

Yes, we are on July 3rd Majesty.  Bid on JS and GS, we are coming from  a casino comped ocean view.  We were part of the offers after the Cuba trip was cancelled, as such we only booked a few weeks ago.

I believe the last day to cancel for 100% refund was last Wednesday, which coincidentally is the same day we got our acceptance. And we bid back in May.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out for you. Good luck!

I saw the Oasis A3 on Deck 12. You do get a seperate master bedroom,  but the living area is choppy and tight. Not sure it even holds 5. Balcony is not as bad as deck 14 (11 is decent sized) but I dont think there is seating for 5.

FWIW, the view from that high isnt that good for the dive shows. Great view of the ocean.

If you bid and win STAR, you get all the perks

One bedroom ATS's are Sky class (A3 and A4), two-bedrooms are STAR (A1 and A2).

The view is better from an A1.😉

We stayed in the A4 a few cruises ago on the Oasis.

It was OK.

Loved the wrap around glass windows in the bedroom area.

The small sitting room with sleeper sofa was extremely small.

The view of the ocean was great. One balcony small, and the other smaller.

Felt crowded for the 3 of us.

Long hike to go anywhere, which was great for exercise.

Seemed to be lost in the shuffle, we were usually out of the cabin by 8am, and it never got attended to till after 4 when we were back for the day (it could have just been our cabin attendant).

Bathroom tub was a climb to get in and out.......................unique.

Probably will not book another one again.

Just saying.

I think they improved them on Harmony and perfected them on Symphony

Speaking of Symphony, has anyone gotten a Royal up bid offer for an upcoming cruise on this ship? Or a past cruise? I took a quick look through the pages in this topic and didn’t see any postings about it. Just wondering what my chances are on my upcoming 8/24 cruise on Symphony . Does anyone have a sense that the offers to bid are not extended as  frequently for cruises on the newest ships?

This thread is long so its easy to miss stuff.  Try to search my name in here to find my details.

I sailed on the Symphony in May.

I got a Royal Up offer and it was accepted.  My mom also got an offer and hers was also accepted.

Thanks for your response. I found other posts by you but not specifically on this topic. How much prior to the sail date did you and your mom receive your offers? Did your sailing appear sold out online prior to the time you received the offer? I’m very interested in your experience if you don’t mind sharing. We are in a  casino comped JS. Would love to go to a GS but to self upgrade it is almost 2k. Online it shows just 2 GS left. I’m trying to decide if we should bite the bullet and self upgrade before these 2 are gone, or wait to see if we get a chance to Royal up. I’m very happy to have a JS but I’m wondering if on a ship this size if the GS perks (separate dining room, priority seating etc) are worth the price. Any thoughts? Thanks!!

Sorry.  I am not the person to whom you directed your question...but since this is a casino comp for you did you contact Club Royale about upgrading ?  Even though their comp upgrades have definitely taken a turn for the worse, they will still give you a better deal than "retail" price. $2K to upgrade from a JS to a GS sounds like a LOT for a casino rate upgrade.  Just wonderin'...

Sadly the 2k is the price to upgrade through Club Royale. Yes, they have definitely taken a turn for the worse. Last year we upgraded on the Allure from a JS to a GS for less than half that!

UGH.  Sorry.  Our experience has been the same

Thats strange!  I posted in this thread because I keep getting notifications, lol.

I received my offer at 45 days before sailing.  I was, at the time, in a Central Park View with no balcony for four people.  I bid on a Neighborhood Balcony for $75pp ($150 because they only charge for the first two people).

My mom was in a regular interior and bid $100pp on an Oceanview Balcony.

About a week after that the ship showed almost all categories as sold our or waitlisted and it stayed that way right up until sailing.

8 days before sailing both my mom and me got confirmations that our bids were accepted.  I was given a Boardwalk Balcony and my mom an oceanview balcony.  Both in good locations too!

This is why I continue to remind people that "sold out" doesnt mean sold out.

Thanks for the info. Yes the inventory online seems to fluctuate quite a bit. I’m 60 days to my sailing date. To self upgrade right now is so expensive that if I do it and then get an opportunity to upgrade via Royal Up later on, I’ll be kicking myself.  I’m just going to wait it out and see what happens

We booked a GTY inside cabin about 60 days out- ship sold out shortly after.  Bid for promenade room $60 per person (minimum $50 per person).  We are 3 days from sailing and just got notification that our bid was accepted and a room was assigned.  So glad I am on this board or I never would have know to turn on my email notifications!

Must be quite the crowd. That will be an awesome 2 weeks. My picture was taken from 8330 on Oasis. We had 8 of us and we fit fine, ages at the time from 59 to 1.

Going to try the 4-bedroom Villa Suite in 2020 so my son and his then-will-be wife will have a real bedroom. Plus the hot tub.........
