Currently on the Edge(12/16/18) too much misinformation and craziness on this board!

I'm currently on the 12/16/18 sailing and let me tell you this forum has way too much misinformation. I'll do a concise trip report after but the ship is amazing and I don't understand why there is all this craziness and negativity and mis information. For instance despite no umbrellas on the pool deck there CERTAINLY ARE PLENTY OF SHADY SPOTS. Here is a live photo @3:18pm while we are docked in San Juan. There has been shade on the starboard side all morning while we we're sailing into Puerto Rico. So please everyone, let's not get into fits over things you have no idea what you're talking about.

The food has been amazing. Eden is a wonderful places and Eden Cafe is great for Breakfast & lunch(pork sliders, the daily carving board sandwiches, @ brownies & chocolate chip cookies are to die for). This ship surpasses any previous Celebrity ship and had met every single expectation of mine. More to follow.!

Music has been fine on the pool deck. Today, 12/18,very very quiet background music until 12:30. Live music from one of the groups on board until 1pm. Then dj live mixed lounge music. Another short live video(12/18 3:45pm of pool deck as they prepare for Special event tonight with LLP, we are docked in San Juan from 3:30 - 10:30pm)music is a live performer.

Thank you! I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone the past few days after having had a wonderful cruise on Edge but then reading lots of negativity about the ship with people claiming things that I did not see at all happening on the exact same cruise. There are some areas for improvement of course but it’s not the disaster ship that it’s being made out to be.

Glad you are having a good time! Those loungers that are partially in the pool look so refreshing. I’m surprised they aren’t all full!

We're in Port, that's why. They are refreshing. There was a bit of inpool chair hogging early afternoon, but I'm not going to get into a fit about it. Towels galore and pool attendants are monitoring things.

I was going to say...where are all the people? It’s nice to know that they still have live entertainment even on port days. Depending on the port and the weather I may just skip going onshore and spend my day lounging in one of those with a drink. I was worried you couldn’t bring your glass there but I see at least one cruiser enjoying a drink in his chair.

First off wonderman3 thank you very much for your amazing live review! You spent so much time on your posting and it is obviously greatly appreciated from everyone on CC!

Seems like we have much in common. My husband is up $5,000(net) after winning 3 jackpots. I don't gamble($20-$40 the whole trip!) I'll have more to reply on your trip report later on.

Here is a photo of our IV cabin-#6154. Tender boats below. I LOVE this stateroom. I generally don't sun on my cruiseship balcony so that's not. An issue. But I agree with the general assessment that this type of room is not a veranda. Definitely a porch though. We slept with the window down and it was so soothing to hear the waves. The room does get warm with the window open. But we don't like ice cold rooms either.

Room is beautiful and very comfortable and soothing. Tons of storage. Bathroom is great. Tons of storage also. Sink is so spacious. Nightlight when lights off. Toiletries are in dispensers, more environmentally friendly but of course you don't take them home. One oversight is toilet seats are not soft close.

I love how spacious the bathrooms look! And so many cubbies to put things! I bet a lot of stuff gets accidentally left behind.

What I REALLY LIKE is the white ledge that's visible at toilet height that runs the length of the bathroom. It's great for putting all sorts of things that you use, including things like personal wipes(remember to ask for sanitary bags to put them in-done flush them!)

Oceanview Cafe is like an amped up version of the S-class buffet. Main food area very spacious. Lots more seating then S-class (always a challenge to find seats in S-class buffet) Double height windows on the port side buffet seating area are so beautiful to eat at and enjoy the views. The seating is a little crowded in these areas though.

Photos of me and my husband (Anthony and Robert, we're both 57 and native NY'ers now living in Philadelphia) waiting embarkation and at Grand Plaza at night around 6pm on night 2.

Edit:

More context. This is our 77th cruise.

#17 on Celebrity;24 RCL;16 NCL;16 Carnival;3 Princess;1 MSC.

We are value cruisers, meaning we rather take 3 cruises on an inside than 1on a balcony. Never had anything above junior suite and that was once on Princess. We mainly sail in insides, Oceanviews, and balconies. Having said that the last 3 years we've been sailing almost exclusively on comped casino cruises either from land based or cruise company programs. We Do pay our on way when a great itinerary comes up. We did a 21 day transpacific cruise on the Explorer of the Seas from Seattle to Sydney(that WAS Not a comped cruise!)

Thank you SOOO much for this post. Our cabin, for our January 2020 sailing, is in the same location on the port side of the ship. You have eliminated all my fears about the amount of the obstruction.

Anthony, thanks so much for the information. We are looking forward to our cruise next month. Since you are a casino player, perhaps you could answer a question for me. Do you happen to know the table minimums for three card poker and blackjack? I heard that they were higher than other X ships but that might be more “misinformation “.  Enjoy your cruise and good luck!   Debbie

Here's two other photos of the bathroom storage. There's a drawer under the lavatory and shelves underneath the whole vanity where they place the towels. There's also an power outlet on the first lower shelf to the right of the lavatory. To be honest if you run out of storage space in these bathrooms you brought too much stuff!

Last comments on the bathroom. There's no clothline in the shower but there are two pegs inside the shower and two on the inside bathroom door. The towels have loops so you can hang without them falling off the pegs. (No pegs anywhere else in the room). Speaking of the bathroom door it's a new design I've never seen before on a cruiseship. There's no latch so the door just closes (it stays closed and doesn't swing open) to lock it just turn the knob.
