It is impossible to please everyone. I rather have a huge solarium with views like Wonder than a small Viking Crown.

Well, I guess they could name it the “Viking Crown Solarium”….  It does look like a crown on top of the bridge.

Atrium sounds good Lloyd ,how about a lounge with a good ocean view?

Deck 5 & 6 areas by the small starboard window appears to have a lounge.

The deck 6 area by the large port side window appears to have a lounge. Deck 7 & 8 area above the lounge is open to the lounge below creating an atrium.

The Pearl is within that atrium, with the top of it poking up into deck 8 behind glass, closing it off from the open air Central Park.

am I the only one who is sort of disappointed that the solarium is being merged with an entertainment venue? I am worried that they have compromised the relaxing atmosphere of the space with infrastructure for performances.

No, you're not.  I hope it ends up being a good idea.

Seems like a great multi purpose venue😁

Ships are evolving, I like it.

I suspect RCI has learned that the Aqua Theater on the Oasis-class is a very inefficient use of extremely valuable open deck space. Think about it... the aft deck/pool space on Oasis-class is only utilized for a few hours on any cruise when the shows are performed. The rest of the time, it's a huge and under-utilized space.

I think the Icon's Aqua Dome will solve this problem by making the Aqua Theater / Solarium a multi-use space that can be utilized all day and night even when the diving show is not happening.

Was just on an oasis class ship and I completely agree with this. As an adult i found the boardwalk to be a completely useless area except for seeing the aquatheater show, I have no use for a merrry-go-round and johnny rockets is probably one of the worst food venues on the ship. I really hope they do more with the boardwalk area on icon.

IMO Playmakers is a nice addition to the boardwalk on Wonder.

And Oasis, Symphony, and one day Allure.

It also gets use for concerts, movies, sports events, etc..

If they sell cabins on the first transAtlantic, we're going. Two questions:

1. Will it be as smooth as a normal transAtlantic?

2. If I don't want direct sunlight, should I be on the starboard side or port side?

New ships are never smooth😉
