I haven’t been on the Splendor since 2009, so it’s nice to see the pics. Since I am doing the Mexico cruise prior to the TP,  I’m hoping the priority line will be shorter, although you moved very quickly.

 

I did buy the Thermal Suite pass for the TP, when it was on sale. With all the sea days, I’m sure it will be well worth it.

I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure the Regent Sun was with us on our first cruise (our honeymoon) in San Juan in 1992.  We were on Carnival Festivale and RCI's Monarch of the Seas was docked right behind us.  Another ship was quite a ways down, but we could see it.  We were all docked across the harbor (where the freight docking is) for embarkation since they had the Christopher Columbus 500th anniversary celebration with the replica ships docked where the cruise ships normally dock in Old San Juan.  I had been curious as to what the other ship was and recently just found that during the time of our cruise there were three ships that did cruises out of San Juan on Sundays, Carnival Festivale, RCI's Monarch of the Seas, and Regent Sun.   

 

Jamman54, sorry if this is a "hijack".  I am really enjoying your review and looking forward to your trip to Hawaii on Splendor.  Patti is getting excellent pics, I'm really enjoying them.  I also loved seeing the pictures of the Queen Mary and seeing what the ships looked like then.  I think this is the first review that I've ever seen pictures of the interior.

And a great napping spot it is! They were very hot. You needed several towels under you to be comfortable.

It most certainly was, as we sailed out of San Juan on the Regent Sun in 1995 for our 25th Anniversary, after spending a week in St Maarten. 👍

Around 11:50 am our cruise director, Lee Mason, made the announcement that all Diamond member cabins were now ready. We weren’t expecting that. Great job! So off we went to our cabin which was all the way aft on Deck 6, port side. We share a hallway with the cabin next door. We are in cabin # 6448 which is a bowling alley balcony cabin. Cabin 6450 is an aft wrap cabin which we were in on our very first Splendor cruise back in 2013…..

 

 

Our Sail & Sign cards were waiting in our mailbox when we arrived. To surprise Patti I had our cabin decorated in honor of our Anniversary. To surprise me, Patti had brought along cabin decorations, which she later hung up. We left the decorations up for the entire cruise…..

Thanks for the great Splendor pictures.  We've cruised her five times in the past & am going to Singapore in Oct.  Our room is also a bowling alley balcony.  In fact it's the same one we cruised around South America in for 49 days.  love cabin #6475.

We did the NE/Canada on the Sunshine and we are doing the same on the Sunrise this September. Look for our review late September. 😎

Also - I just have to say - it’s no wonder you guys have made it 25 years, she can do her thing and trust you alone in Hooters all afternoon. No way in hell my hubby would stay out of trouble for 30 minutes if given that kind of freedom!

Loving every moment of your review, Jamman! We board the Splendor on Saturday! Tell me, what’s your favorite bar to sit and spend time at on the Splendor? This’ll be my first time on this ship and I am particularly entranced by the look of the aft liner bar...

Lucky you! On our previous Splendor cruises the Liner Bar was my go to bar. This cruise it was the Splendido Pool (mid ship) Bar on the starboard side. It's all about the bartenders, and Ruther and Amarsha there were fantastic Ruther is a hoot!. Make sure you tell them that Jeff and Patti from the Hawaii cruise said hello. I'm sure they will remember us!
