Sounds like there's some kind of public event going on in Juneau, hence the national anthem

There is a jazz and classics festival going on so it could be that.

Wonder why they picked CT over the AS dock?

I have asked myself that question before.  AS is closer to downtown and really is more convenient for those who want to explore the city on their own.

Just like Port Everglades:  the arrival of Amsterdam at Pier 21 after her World Cruise proved to be inadequate to handle the luggage and passenger disembarkation without serious delays.  While Carnival Magic will be using Pier 26 for the current season, she was not at dock.  Why could Amsterdam dock and disembark her guests and luggage at a larger terminal?  Who makes these decisions?  And, on what basis are these decisions made?

The ultimate decision as to which berth a ship is assigned to rests with the local harbormaster. The captain can request a certain berth but that is not a given, depending what the port situation looks like and/or what the harbormaster is dealing with on that particular day. Perhaps Volie's master is not a fan of the Red Dog Saloon and thus requested the CT dock :classic_wink:

Good for you Spunkie! Have a great time! Oh, and congrats on the Bruins making it to the SC finals!

Thanks! We are doing the Tracy Arm excursion so will meet back up with her after she docks.

Weather looks warm for Alaska - in the 70s perhaps. Late May tends to be warm(Er) there.
