We were on a recent cruise with a stop in Cozumel. Coming back to our cabin, we were surprised to see some drug dogs with their Mexican handlers making the rounds. One dog alerted at a cabin and the officer recorded the cabin number. They did not go into the cabin. Never did see what happened if anything.

What does have to do with CBD oil?

Part of this thread's discussion has been about the risk of taking on prohibited items and the likelihood of getting caught with them. So the fact that someone experienced drug dogs being used on board the ship is quite relevant. The thing is, drug dogs would have to be trained to detect CBD and/or hemp oil in order to alert on it. The chances that they are trained on those substances is probably slim to none.

Agreed. Not sure what the dogs were trained to find but probably some sort of prohibited item

Cannot say if it translates to cruising, but the local news in LA last night had two stories of sweet little old ladies who each had a small dropper bottle of CBD oil in their airline carryon. Both ladies were detained, searched and charged when they went through airport security.  One used it for arthritis pain, don’t recall the other. But they both thought it was supposed to be legal and were shocked that they now face federal charges.  If you can’t do without it for a week or two, you need to be aware of this.

old news, no charges were pressed and they were released immediately, read more carefully

And it shows just how crazy the authorities were to charge then in the first place.

This thread is all over the place! The OP asked about hemp oil + that got turned into CBD oil. Two different animals! CBD is on Carnival's prohibited list, hemp is NOT! Yeah, they're both made from hemp, but different parts of the plant. Like a lot of things, you might get away with it (CBD), but it's still PROHIBITED by Carnival, simple as that.

My 19 yr old daughter uses CBD for her Mast Cell Disease in an oil form. I wonder if CBD patches are prohibited too?

don't worry just bring it, no one cares and no one will know. Think about it, they are boarding 3,000 + people, they don't care about your personal hygiene bag.

and because it has now been debated, discussed and dissected, and has in fact gone off topic it will remain for your reading pleasure if so inclined but not open for business so to speak
