Which Oasis class ship?

For my next cruise, I have the option to go on any of the 4 current Oasis class ships?   Which would you pick and why?

 

This cruise would be a family cruise consisting of 4 generation, ranging in age from 75 to 18months.  All of us except one family has been on multiple cruises.

If you are sailing after November of this year I would choose Oasis.  She will be fresh out of Drydock and cheaper than Harmony and Symphony.

No brainer, Mamma Mia every time, but I do love Grease.

Mamma Mia is one of the primary reasons I booked Allure.

I would choose for the shows.  

 

I went on the Oasis last year and didn't stay for the 2nd half of Cats.    Come Fly With Me, the ice skating show and the aqua show were amazing though..

John has probably convinced them to move CATS to Harmony.

And she will have all the latest bells and whistles that the new ships have, such as the addition of the Perfect Storm water slide trio, the 10 story tall Ultimate Abyss slides, an enhanced children's water park area, laser tag, and new dining options. Plus, virtually all of the carpeting and upholstery in public areas and in staterooms will be new. She will have that "new ship" smell!

Whichever is the cheapest imo, though I would imagine Allure (and Oasis if cruising before November) would be somewhat less attractive if you care about water slides and having the latest bells and whistles.  They're all basically the same, though. We decided on Harmony for our July cruise over Allure and Symphony largely due to cost (plus Allure's propulsion issues).

The number of people who have fallen asleep during CATS on Oasis has to be in the tens of thousands at this point, no?

The number of people who have fallen asleep during CATS on Oasis has to be in the tens of thousands at this point, no?

Just got off the the Allure on Sunday and I can tell you that the propulsion "issues" didn't effect the cruise one bit.  True, we were only in PR for 4 hours, but that didn't bother us at all. That was the only port time that was changed by the issues.

Yeah, I mean if they don't have problems with any of the remaining azipods, it's not a big deal.  Our concern was what would happen if 2 malfunction and they'd need to drop ports or send her in for repairs when we're supposed to be sailing.  Just seemed like an unnecessary risk to take if we weren't already booked (plus Allure was more expensive than Harmony for just about all of the summer months when we were quoting things out).

I agree with you on that point.  I was getting nervous in the weeks leading up to our cruise, but thankfully all went well.  I'm only sorry that it had to end.  It was just awesome!!  Have a ball!!

The cruise isn't until March 2021 so I have a lot of time to decide.

You should book now and not wait.  Prices will rise as you are in spring break season.  If it goes down you can get a price drop.  Book refundable deposit or better yet find a TA with group space.

I would say that going with the newest ship is always a good idea, although it might cost more. They tend to make improvements with each one, correcting old mistakes and adding cool new stuff. We've been on 3 of the Oasis class. going on Symphony in Sept. so we'll see how that works out.   I haven't kept up with new builds lately, so I don't know what will be new in 2021.

Btw, we were on Oasis the week Cats began. Over half of the audience (including some of my travel buddies) walked out at the break. I wasn't crazy about it on Broadway, but it was really bad on the ship. There were bad technical problems (evidently they had to use the original 1960's soundtrack). Anyway, if you can last, the 2nd half is actually better. I'm very glad it's going away. Chicago is still the best. Grease is getting really old. everyone has seen it and the story is dated. I don't like Abba, never have, but that's just personal taste

Thought Cats is staying...unless they just haven't announced yet.
