Royal princess largest Aft Suite balconies

We are going to book the Royal for an Alaskan cruise next Summer. Our 40th anniversary so we are splurging and will book one of the Aft Corner suites. Does anyone recommend one deck over another? Baja, Dolphin, Caribe and Aloha are available.  On the deck plan it looks like Baja and Dolphin balconies are bigger. Is that correct?  And if so does that mean the cabin itself is smaller? Thanx!

We were on the first Royal Princess cruise to Alaska. We took the Dolphin!  If you are looking for the size of deck the Dolphin and Baja are largest and partially covered. Cabin is same size and beautiful. Also we had no soot issues and spent a lot of time there enjoying the views!

We were cabin D727 for a transatlantic cruise and enjoyed it very much. The cabin itself is plenty big with a desk in the living area which makes it feel more spacious. With regard to the balcony, it was a huge wrap around and partially covered. If having more shade is important, that’s something to consider. We did get some soot, but our cabin steward was on top of it. We would book it again.

If you are booking an aft suite, you may want to consider one near the VIP/Concierge lounge.  My husband and I ended up using the one on the Majestic Princess quite a bit.

Definitely book either Dolphin or Baja.

The cabins are all the same but the balconies on those two decks (suites and regular balcony cabins between them on the aft of the ship) are larger and partially covered.

Other suite balconies on the aft decks are totally open to the elements - sun, rain and people hanging out - above.

Has anyone here stayed in one of these corner suites on the Aloha deck?  I can see by the picture that the balconies are narrower on that deck but it still looks to have some cover.  We are booked in it for a long cruise next year on the Sky.

We've also booked the Riviera deck 730 for a trip this fall and that balcony also looks like it has some cover.  Can anyone who have actually stayed in either of these rooms verify or not whether this is true?

We where in D726. Huge balcony but the suite it self is liitle cramped. The original plan was to have these cabins bigger with only one balcony cabin between the suites. They changed the plan and added 2 on each side which really hurt the suite.

BTW we did have soot depending on wind conditions.

We were in D726 for 3 weeks.

Major soot issues which apparently have not subsided. (wind did not matter)

Yes, we were in one of the Aloha aft suites and would not do it again.  The balcony was so narrow that you could not put the chaises lengthwise so they had to be placed head to head flush against the wall.  There are two small tables on the balcony, one on the side and one aft.   Both seat two and for the one on the side, one person would have to go through the bedroom to sit at one chair and the other person would have to walk around though the living room slider to get to the other side.  No room to walk around the table at all, and when it was windy we would sometimes hear the chairs and table banging against the bedroom window and door.  Lots of soot too primarily because the balcony was pretty much all uncovered.  The inside was nice but that balcony was terrible.

Absolutely loved D726 on the Royal. Some shade and some sun and a lot of room. You will feel like you are on your own yachet.

And we greatly enjoyed joining your group in D726 during the SF sailaway under the Golden Gate Bridge! 🍷☺️

Thank you for the information.  Nothing else open in aft suites for our sailing, so we will hope for the best.

You said you are on the Sky so the situation could be very different.  No one really knows at this point.  Thinking they at least solved the soot problem on the later builds!

For those of you who have been cruising on Princess for a long time perhaps you can answer a question.  I looked and D727 is available to book the 14 day TA and the 11 Day Baltic on the Sky sailing we are going on.  We booked it as a single 25 night cruise and the Aloha deck aft suite was the only one available.  Is it possible we would be able to have Princess change our stateroom to D727 since it IS open for the entire trip, they just aren't listing it on the full 25 booking area?

Princess holds certain cabins for partial segments and certain ones for longer segments.

A good TA can get you ANY available cabin for any sailing segment. (I know that for a fact because mine did it for me in a case exactly like this!)
