cello56 Posted July 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2019 We are doing a back to back on Allure in October 2020 sailing from Barcelona. Does anyone know how early back to back guests can get off the ship on the last day of the first cruise? We were hoping to be able to make the 9AM mass at La Sagrada Familia church on turn around day. They say the doors open at 8:30AM, and it would be a taxi ride from the port. Appreciate any help from those who are familiar with this port. We have never done a back to back before - our first will be next April on Brilliance from Tampa. We are hoping to be able to visit the Tampa Aquarium on that turn around day.
Clarea Posted July 21, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2019 You can get off and on the ship as much as you like on turnaround day. Speak to Guest Services around mid-cruise. You may have to make special arrangements to get off the ship with the earliest departing guests. Guest Services would need to provide your new SeaPass cards before you leave the ship.

Just to add to the above excellent reply a taxis are plentiful and will be lined up outside the departure building it takes about 15 minutes to 20 minutes to the cathedral depending on traffic. An alternative and cheaper way if you have the time would be to take the port shuttle bus to the Columbus statue cross the road to the excellent metro service and take the Green line to Diagonal then change to the blue line to La Sagrada Familia on exiting La Sagrada Familia is in front of you. Perhaps you may take a taxi there if time is an issue and do the metro in reverse on the way back. Either way enjoy your cruise and mass.
Merion_Mom Posted July 21, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2019 I don't know how helpful this will be, but here is what I experienced. Our turnaround port was Civitavecchia, not Barcelona. We were off the ship and meeting our driver around 7:15 a.m. We got our cards the day before. We just walked off.
Ashland Posted July 21, 2019 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2019 We were recently in Barcelona onboard Vision..... You'll get your new SeaPass cards during your meeting for consecutive cruiser's the last day at sea....and be able to depart with the self assist guests which will probably be 6:15am if you're a 6:00am arrival... Taxi's are lined up and waiting.

pstone1 Posted July 21, 2019 #7 Share Posted July 21, 2019 We were in Barcelona on a B2B on Rhapsody last December. Our new Sea Pass cards were left on our bed sometime during the last Sea Day. We had no trouble walking right off the ship, "dinging out" on our old Sea Pass cards, and grabbing a taxi to LaRamblas. After some shopping, visiting the Christmas Market, and lunch, we took a taxi back to the ship and "dinged in" with our new Sea Pass cards. Very easy. bonsai3s Posted July 21, 2019 #8 Share Posted July 21, 2019 You will also be given a "Transit Card" along with your new seapass card. When you return to the cruise terminal, simply show your transit card and you'll be able to skip all the lines (except for the security line of course.) Hope you're able to make it and attend the mass...we barely made it in because of the large number of groups on land tours. We took the shuttle to the Columbus Station and the metro to the Sagrada Familia...perhaps next time, we'll try the taxi. International Masses The Archdiocese of Barcelona holds an international mass at the Basilica of the Sagrada Família every Sunday and on holy days of obligation. Date and time: Every Sunday and on holy days of obligation at 9 am There is no charge for attending mass but capacity is limited. More information: Language: various The entrance to the Basilica is on the Nativity façade, C/ Marina, from 8:30 am until capacity is reached. Visitors are asked to dress appropriately and behave respectfully. Groups of more than 25 must fill in this form before coming. For any other questions regarding the international masses, please contact the liturgical head of masses at missainternacional@sagradafamilia.org. njkruzer Posted July 21, 2019 #9 Share Posted July 21, 2019 In Tampa the Aquarium was across from where we docked on the Brilliance last January. Our son and his family went there before heading to the airport. They had places to check luggage. Obviously not needed for a b2b.
sunny07 Posted August 1, 2019 #10 Share Posted August 1, 2019 We just were on the Oasis in July and wanted to go mass as well. We got off the ship around 8:20-30 and by the time we got outside the taxi line was really long. The line moves but we were in line for at least 20 minutes. Sadly, we missed mass. I would encourage you to be off the ship no later than 8. We did the audio tour at La Sagrada Família and the church was absolutely amazing and beautiful. The doorway to enter for mass is on the opposite side of the main entrance, across from a small park. The mass is in the basement. Hope this helps.
