Caviar

Hi Everyone,

 

We are scheduled for our first Regent cruise on the Nov 23'rd trans-Atlantic .

 

Does Regent serve caviar, and if so is it included?

It is definitely included on Explorer and Splendor at least.  Regent has a tradition of an over the top Sunday champagne and caviar brunch on all sea days that occur on Sunday.  That being said, on our last Explorer cruise the started the caviar brunch early (breakfast) because we had no sea day Sundays.  They made sure that we had our fill of caviar before we went off for our shore excursion.  I believe they also serve it in the specialty restaurants for an additional charge.

Splendor hasn't launched yet, so you have a chance at free cavier only if you're on Explorer. On our recent Med cruise on Voyager, there was a cavier event in one of the lounges. The drinks were included, but the cavier wasn't.

there is caviar on Sunday morning on the other ships as well. Just not a brunch.

It also can be found on the main dining room menu as an appetizer from time to time.

For clarification......... all ships have caviar and champagne on Sunday - whether it is a port day or not -- whether you are in Compass Rose or La Veranda!

 

"Good" caviar is offered at a price on some evenings in the Observation Lounge.

 

Explorer (and Splendor when it launches) has an over the top brunch with champagne (or anything else that you would like to drink) on a Sunday IF it is a sea day.  Other ships do not have this.

And  to add to Jackie's clear explanation, we just returned from a 7 day Explorer cruise.  Sunday was a sea day, so of course I was happily anticipating a fabulous special brunch.  Learned that it's only a 10 or more day cruise when, if it's a Sunday Sea Day, you have this sensational brunch.  We did have, however, one complimentary caviar presentation in our suite due to the suite category we booked.  Now I have to look for a 10 or more day cruise where Sunday is a Sea Day!!  Or.....it's a good way to use your SBC!!

If you're referring to breakfast, we had breakfast at La Veranda on 2 Sundays in July on Voyager. Both mornings we were there when it opened (and on disembark day, we were there half an hour before they opened since their published opening time was not when they actually opened). On both Sundays, we needed to be off the ship as early as possible. We didn't see any caviar on the buffet, but if was a small bowl in a remote spot, it would be easy to miss.

True, we've had it on every ship of Regents that we've sailed---Always on Sunday.

We have always seen it too...we just aren’t caviar fans.

Yes, on all our Regent cruises caviar with blinis, toast & condiments has been available for breakfast every Sunday in Compass Rose and La Veranda (as a separate set-up to the buffet). 

Sommeliers are on hand to pour champagne, mimosas etc.

The “Champagne & Caviar Breakfast” is also advertised in the daily “Passages”.

Not sure about arrangements when Sunday is changeover day,

I'm curious as to what the OP meant when asking if caviar is included. Did that mean occasionally at the brunch or a specific meal or did it mean included whenever and wherever you want it?

If so it's only on Sunday, and if your in a upper suite they also do one caviar service in your suite anytime you want it at no additional cost to you.

And the quality of the caviar is way better than what you get on Sunday.
