reeinaz Posted August 21, 2019 #51 Share Posted August 21, 2019 My CCL cruise in May still shows St Maarten and so does my RCL December 2020 cruise.
bob brown Posted August 21, 2019 #52 Share Posted August 21, 2019 I haven't done any research on any particular itinerary changes, that might reveal a clue as to the 'why' of it, but one possible explanation could be that they have deemed a 'slot' for a port of call reserved for one ship in the fleet, would be 'sacrificed' to allow a different ship in the fleet to have....for whatever reason. Let's say a ship doing a T/A was originally scheduled to make a port call at St. Maarten, but now, with a new ship coming on doing a weekly itinerary, they would rather use that spot for the weekly ship, then one doing a repo... Again, just a possibility....

As a consumer, it's just nice to know. Obviously, a knowledgeable cruiser such as yourself became so because of information that was available to you from one source or another. Be it direct from the cruise line, or from others with experience with whatever the question is at hand, in this case, itinerary changes, it's JUST NICE TO KNOW! And what difference does it make if it is nice to know or not? Ha ha, just kidding. 😉
davy jones Posted August 21, 2019 #57 Share Posted August 21, 2019 On 8/17/2019 at 5:53 PM, Birdie And Sue said: I highly doubt that ANY port change on any cruise line is random. Just because the reason a change is made is not disclosed does not mean it is random. True, but the lack of transparency on the part of NCL make it appear random. A reasonable person will accept a reasonable explanation for a change to a posted itinerary. Storms and political situations, and anything potentially affecting passenger safety come to mind. However, changing itineraries after booking for monetary reasons is bad business.
