PVSA violation or not?

Booked an Alaskan Cruise RT Vancouver and then decided to add on the next segment which is Vancouver to San Diego.  Is this B2B in violation of the PVSA or will we be ok?

Don't want any last minute surprises..

As you are going from Vancouver in Canada, to San Diego in USA, this is not a violation of the PVSA. It is where you start and end the cruise that matters.

Agree. If you went from one US port to another, there could be a problem, depending on if you stop at a "distant foreign port" or not. You aren't going from one US port to another.

You should be fine, as you are departing from Vancouver on both cruises.  I still would double check with my TA however, just to be 110% sure.

I've done a B2B but from Vancouver to San Diego and then San Diego RT and was fine.  If HAL is offering a "Collector Cruise" with both segments, you'll know it's not in violation.  (You may want to check that because it could be a little cheaper as a Collector Cruise.)

The combo cruise is fine. The cruise has to both start AND end in the US for the PVSA to be a consideration at all. What you are suggesting doing does not.

Good advice, Dave.  OP might also want to check this out with HAL Ship Services.

Thank you to all who took the time to respond.  I did call ship services and spoke to a helpful representative who confirmed we are NOTt in violation.  I knew I could count on all of you to help me 😀
