Hi Colo Cruiser.  Thank you so much for your wonderful observations and information from the beautiful Sky Princess.  I look forward to sailing on her in 5 weeks!  If you have a spare moment, could you please check in the Casino to see if they have a Let It Ride table as well as 3-Card poker tables?

Warmest Regards,

Sheila

Wondering if Churchills smoking lounge access is walker friendly .

I went in there last night and it is pretty small. It is a square room with the floor to ceiling humidor smack dab in the middle. When you open the entrance door it is close to the humidor. So you have to go left around the humidor to get to the other side of the room or once inside close the door and go right.
I think the walker should be ok.

As always the cigarette smoke far outweighs any cigar in there.

At yesterday’s M&G Capt Laakkonen confirmed that Capt Tuvo boarded the ship in Lisbon on Thursday.  I don’t recall the exact date in early December that Capt Buh Bye takes the helm but he’s onboard the Sky.  There was a great turnout of officers at the M&G which was 30 minutes after a meet the hotel officers event in the Vista Lounge.

CD Alex addressed some concerns such as a lack of descriptions for entertainment & the MDR menu only being displayed at the aft end of the buffet.  The plan is to eventually add the daily MDR menu to the MedallionClass app but they’re experiencing problems with adding it.  Gelato’s has a new menu however the old menu is still shown on OceanConcierge.

A very experienced Princess cruiser said they were told a new record for elite passengers was reached on the current 14 day TA...over 1800 or about half of the passengers.

The ship is currently docked in Madeira with a forecast of partly cloudy skies & a high of 71°.

He takes command on December 7.

Excellent information and pictures.  Personally, The Retreat does not look inviting.  Anyone think it is a "big" extra for booking a suite?

Again, thanks for the info.

Are you saying the retreat area is for suite guests only; or they have access to it?  Thanks

The Retreat pool area is free to all adults.  The Sanctuary charges (and is adult only).  You are paying for more comfortable lounges (although it appears that the Sky has 'new' furniture and the cushions aren't as deep as on other ships) and excellent service including afternoon tea (with scones, small sandwiches, etc.) plus a light lunch menu ($3 delivery charge when we were in the Sanctuary on the Crown 11 months ago) not found anywhere else on the ship.  We found that sitting out in the Sanctuary for long periods of time was more interesting when compared to the relatively short periods we spend on our balcony even when we booked a full suite.

The wake pool looks like it is shallow. 🛳️

Can anyone verify?

I spent a couple of hours in and out of it today.

It is posted on each end......

2’ 6” to 3’ 6”

It was still a very nice experience.
Now if it loads up like a hot tub then I will pass thank you.

Thanks for the response. I should be able to enter and exit the pool on the ladder at that depth.😄

Hi Sheila,
No let it ride tables but they do have 3 card poker tables.

Thanks for the clarification.  I was confused from other lines and the location so near the suites.  Again thanks for the helpful info.

I'm enjoying your posts.  We will be on the Sky in May.  Hubby loves the PokerPro electronic no limit holdem tables in the casino.  Would you mind checking to see if they have one of those, or something similar?  They had been on every Princess ship that we've been on - until we cruised on the Sapphire in January.  And they weren't on the Majestic either in October.  Both ships focus on serving Asian clientele for a good part of the year and we've been told that they aren't big on Poker.  Hoping that is the case and the Sky has one, otherwise I will have to deal with a cranky hubby again!  (fortunately he gets over it as the cruise progresses).
