Definitely good value for me - We are going from Dubai to Singapore in March and our flight home is not until around 11pm as the cruise doesn't depart from Singapore until 8pm this will be ideal and far better than going to a day hotel.

just spoken to somebody and they said that they'd been able to to secure some sailings for clients to be able to stay on board.  I asked her about details and she said you can stay on until 60 minutes before the sailing, your treated as if you have a classic package.  I asked about food and she going to email shore excursions and get back to me - I guess that may not be until monday.

Can anyone who has done this tell me how it works - it will save us a lot of hassle.

I find it hard to believe that this is really available in the US.  Has anyone talked to Celebrity about this?

I contacted my Celebrity planner...  he has confirmed twice this is available for my sailing which begins and ends in Fort lauderdale in Feb.

Info from someone who works at FLL port over on the RCI boards:

You will have to get off the ship with your luggage and go thru customs , and then drop your luggage at the suite luggage entrance and meet the shorex staff and wait in the general boarding area till 0 count. You board back with your original sea pass card before general boarding commences....You need to be off the ship 90 minutes before the next sailing.  You will then collect your luggage.  This is only for Celebrity Terminal 25.

Explain to me how Border Control can zero the ship if pax haven't left the ship. Even B2Bs have to get off, if only for a few minutes. And when they reboard, they do it as pax for the next cruise.

Perhaps pax with extended stay could get off and on just as the B2B pax to satisfy immigration? Depends on whether or not they could also go through customs with their luggage later in the day.

Well according to the information supplied by Little Britain, that appears to be the new procedure. Celebrity must have had to jump through a lot of hoops to get CBP approval for this.

We'll be on Equinox for a B2B in Feb. I'll be interested to see if this interferes or delays the regular boarding.

Just booked us for the last day on Edge 15 dec, looks right. A really nice improvement.

It says the luggage will be picked up by housekeeping the morning on arrival.

So I guess we can stay on board, because it also say: Guests can stay in their room until 9AM.

Please note that no exit and re-entry to the ship will be permitted on departure day.

Looking forward to some extra time before heading to the airport.

What am I missing? As long as the passengers all disembark so that the ship can be zeroed, CBP should be happy. The fact that some passengers will reboard, whether as b2b or EYS guests, shouldn't be an issue. This seems to me to have been more of a Celebrity roadblock than one created by CBP.

Guess it depends on what you want.

For the price they charge you to stay on the ship a few hours longer, we would much rather get a day room at a hotel where you have your own private bed where you can stretch out and nap,  your own private bathroom, desk and TV.

I've been looking into this as well... is there a Fort Lauderdale hotel you recommend that has day room rental available?

Can someone please document and share how this goes for them? We fly out of FLL to Toronto at 2:30 so we will likely  need to be at airport by 12 noon i'm guessing. So we only have a few hours to burn but don't want to do it sitting in the airport.

Thanks.

Maybe you can find an excursion with airport transfer that will fit your schedule, either through the ship or privately.

And the price of these excursions aren't much more than you'd pay for the EYS.

I agree it is not cheap - (hoping Black Friday may bring a discount on shore excursion) but to leave the ship early, move your luggage, get a cab to a  hotel with a day room rate, that won't be that cheap, that hopefully will allow you to check in before 9.30 am, you still have to pay for lunch and drinks - depending when your flight is - and then another cab to the airport.  May work out not that much different

OK.  Just had celebrity on the phone.  You do have to get off the ship, find your luggage and clear immigration and customs and then you get back on - apparently they have somewhere special to hold your luggage and you can use all the facilities, can drink as if you have a classic drinks package.  Any extras like speciality dining for lunch you can pay for on your credit card but the buffet is all yours!

But unless things have changed recently, you lose the use of the most important facility of all -- your stateroom.

When we inquired about this program (granted, it was a few years ago), we were told that we would be restricted to the public areas of the ship only.

That totally killed its appeal for us, as what we really wanted most that day was the use of our own private stateroom and balcony.

Essentially, we wanted the equivalent of a late hotel check-out time, which this was not.

It was more the equivalent of checking out of your hotel room, but then hanging around in the public areas of the hotel for a while, which just about any hotel will let you do after you check out of your room without charging you an extra fee.

Well if the other option is wait at the airport several of hours for check in to open, I´d rather be onboard relaxing by the pool and drinking a cocktail. But I will defently have a chat with them onboard, because they are selling it as you can stay onboard, not go off, housekeeping to collect your bags from your state room.... It seems like someone at Celebrity don´t know the correct answers, who is right is jet to find out. If they will ask us to disembark as  normal and then board again I will claim money back! Looking forward to our Edge sailing anyways 🙂

I agree with both of you.  I would prefer to use my own statement but as I know that isn't an option I prefer it to waiting at the airport or in our case as we're flying back from Miami, get a cab to Miami, put our bags somewhere, find something to do for 5 hours, collect our bags and then get a cab to the airport.  Much more relaxing to roughly stay put.

Verylind, if your Edge sailing is going back to Fort lauderdale you will definitely be getting off and back on again as you say according to what I've been told.  If you remember, will you let me know on your return?  Enjoy your cruise

Got a question about this.  I understand you can use "all the facilities", but what's going on besides the pool?  My mom's not the pool type, not sure if she'd want to do that all day.  I get that casino and shops closed, that's standard in port.  My experience has been that anyplace serving food doesn't serve after 8:30, and probably doesn't open up til 11:30 or 12.  Will any of the bars be open?  Seems like we've got the classic package for the day but if there's nowhere to use it what's the point?

We do have a hotel in Miami (doing touristy stuff for 2 days, not to mention the Celine Dion concert Saturday night!!), so we'll have to drive down there anyway.  Just trying to decide if the $140 for the 2 of us is worth it.  This is my moms very first cruise (she's always been afraid she'll get seasick, so this is a good trial for her) so I want her to get as much out of it as I can.
