Nieuw Amsterdam headed back to Florida

Presumably repaired, Nieuw Amsterdam is under way and headed for Port Everglades

Thank for the update. Not even going to guess when she will arrive, however it will be interesting to see her arrival.

I would suspect that the trip back to FLL will include some post repair testing and that she may not arrive until morning.

ETA posted as 7 PM but that's only as reported by Marine Traffic. May be interesting to see if there's any testing of usual transit speeds; i.e 15-18 knots. Distance to Port Everglades is only 90 miles so no need for that sort of speed.

We noticed that she was moving rapidly on Dec 13 from Half Moon Cay to FLL and thought it was odd being so close, so perhaps they were testing things out back then.

Sched now says 19:30.  Volendam first has to vacate pier 19 approx 17:00

As of 3pm, NA was under way at a leisurely 7.2 knots and was about 30 miles/50km from Port Everglades.

30 SM = about 26 NM, so that's about 4 hours at 7 knots
