Coco Cay - Free areas

OK...So for those that have been to Coco Cay, I need some specific information on where the free areas are on the island.  Here are the particulars:

  • We do not have kids (that are with us)
  • We are on Symphony OTS - sailing January 25
  • Just looking for lounging around and grabbing a drink or two (or 3 or 4) and jumping into the sea for some swims...

Question:  Exactly where are the free areaS that I am told exist?  (RCI promotes all they have to sell for a fee and, rightly so) but if we just want to chill, splash in the ocean and grabs some drinks, were  are the locations that we can do that??

Am currently sitting at the pier at Coco Cay on Mariner.  We did our usual and just walked the parimeter of the island, and then back to the ship. Lots of free beach chairs, but very packed in together.  Some are in not so great places, with no view of the water.

With former south beach being redone, and working on Coco Beach Club, there is a lot of beach area blocked off with huge tarp "fences" on the opposite side of the island from the pier.  Makes everything a bit congested right now.  Heavy equipment working along the beach there.

Hoping you can tell us or recommend a good beach for swimming...any specific area?  Thank you as always.

The pool is free, as are the beaches as long as you don't use the sunbeds or cabanas.

Most food is free but drinks and soda cost extra.  Water park and balloon is extra charge.

Hi there - are drinks free if you have the drinks package? thanks

Tons and tons of free (included) areas.  We sit at Chill Beach as we like that the best.  We sit right below where the snorkel hut is.  We go to the first row of loungers, grab our loungers/umbrella and chill.  Wacky Seagull bar is right to the right and servers will come around.  Pool area is also free.  2 buffets and Snack Shack are included.  Areas of South beach are included but we don't like it as much there.  The cove area is included.  So lot of place to relax and enjoy.  If you have the bev pkg, that works out there also.  Only thing you pay for is the Pineapple itself and the souvenir cups.  If you get a Pineapple, and you have the package, you can get it refilled for free.  We never spend anything out there.  For us, it is the perfect beach day.

The same drinks that are complimentary on the ship are complimentary at CocoCay.

Yes, however drinks in souvenir cups or pineapples are extra cost.

Like the souvenir cups.  Especially the tall ones.  I use them all the time once home.

Looking forward to our next visit.  Not sure when though. 🤨

Just back from CocoCay. Tons of great free areas with great ocean views. Lots of options.

The beach near Chill Island area is really the best IMHO...calm and nice sandy entrance.  Clear water, lots of fish.  Once they finish the South Beach area and pull the beach beds back out of there...will be a lot less congested as well.
