vision14k Posted January 22, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2020 Out of curiosity, what would you (honestly) pay to upgrade to a Junior Suite on Allure from a Boardwalk Balcony cabin?
Clarea Posted January 22, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2020 Max $600 total.
Merion_Mom Posted January 22, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2020 It depends on how much you were paying for that balcony cabin in the first place.

I agree with bob. No more than around 300.

molly361 Posted January 22, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 22, 2020 If you are talking about Royal up and a grand suite is an option I would bid on that instead of the JS

When I book, I book a room that I feel comfortable with, both location and price. So I never feel a need to change it. For me, it's just a bed, and a balcony to drink my morning coffee.
Another_Critic Posted January 22, 2020 #9 Share Posted January 22, 2020 (edited) I assume you are referring to Royal UP. If so, note the Royal UP accepted bids to Jr / Full suites will not earn an extra C&A point. Points will be based on your original booking category. However, you will get whatever on board benefits are entitled for the upgraded category. Edited January 22, 2020 by Another_Critic
cb at sea Posted January 22, 2020 #10 Share Posted January 22, 2020 I would have booked the JS from the get-go....we enjoy having a bit of extra space in our cabin!

Tulsacoker Posted January 22, 2020 #12 Share Posted January 22, 2020 I bid on an upgrade based upon two things: 1. Do I really want the room 2. How much extra was it above my original room that I booked then typically bid 50% of the difference (for the two).

Since we are OV, we cant bid on GS and up. So @Merion_Mom since my original cost is basically free, is $1000 an acceptable bid
vision14k Posted January 22, 2020 Author #16 Share Posted January 22, 2020 Thanks for the feedback. This actually wasn’t for a Royal Up offer. The cruise had been sold out and I noticed a JS opened up, was debating upgrading!

Let’s just say it was north of any recommendations made here. Lol

Lol Did you upgraded directly with Royal? I tried doing that they wanted $1,600 for a JS $2,500 for a GS. Crazy prices right now, I paid $2,100 for the booking on a Ocean Balcony; maybe that’s why. Waiting for the last 60-30 days to call again.

And yes, they wanted, and I paid a crazy price... which is how they’re able to ask crazy prices... because of people like me, lol, sorry!
